I think that your VCR is broken and needs to be repaired.

My manual for RCA TruFlat TV combo advises....If you forget your password, unplug the TV/VCR/DVD. Press and hold both the VOL up and STOP/EJECT buttons on the front panel while you plug in the TV/VCR/DVD. Release the buttons after approximately 2 seconds. This resets the password.

unplug the television and hit the power button to make sure the cpacitors are drained then let it sit for 2-3 hours before plugging it back in, this should alow ample time for the memory to be lost.

Ok to reprogram the remote and this only works if you just use the remote for the tv and the receiver. Like i was saying to reprogram the remote hold the tv button till all the top lights flash, then push the red power button, then hit the up arrow button slowly til the tv cuts off, once it cuts off hit the pound (#) button. The top lights should blink three times, that should reprogram the remote, If it is a tv/vcr combo or a tv/dvd combo then there isnt a code for it. Also there is a series of years that the rca tv's wont take a full code and u can just control the power and the tv channel

I have an rca drc8335 vcr/dvd player that is locked. I have the code to unlock it, but don't know where to post the code. Can you help me?

Faulty power-supply symptoms:

ive done it a few years ago but forgot.
so i need the codes for toshiba tv and way to program this rca dish network remote.

General Problems
Player won’t work (locks up)
• Try unplugging the AC power cord and plugging it back in.
• Reset the DVD/VCR: on the front of the unit, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button while you press and hold the STOP button—wait at least 3 seconds
before you release both of the buttons. You’ll need to set up your menu preferences because this Reset Procedure returns the DVD/VCR’s menus to the
factory default settings and also erases the contents of the Disc Library.

Hold the power button down for 5 seconds fixed it for me.

We just unplugged our sony dvd player and plugged it back in and it worked.
