Well, its 10:30 on a Saturday night, and I was so frustrated by my Kitchenaid Oven. I set it to clean, but afterwards it would not unlock. the display read F5:E7, which i found out means the door unlocker won't work.
So, how did i fix it, well there are two ways, to get your oven door open.
I only found this out after tinkering for 2 hours, and found the easiest way to get your oven going again:
Pull your range out so you can see behind it. You will see a rod in the upper center part of the oven. There is a cutout in the metal and you can see the solenoid that locks the oven. It is connected to a rod. This rod is what goes to the front of the oven and is what is keeping your door locked. Simply move that rod the opposide direction, it will click, and presto, your door is now open.
I never bothered to replace the solenoid, because I didn't know if it was bad, or the controller board. The Solenoid itself is $90, I don't want to even guess what the control board is.
So, not technically a fix, but it will get your oven open. Just don't clean it automatically any more!
