Hmm, don't quite understand here.... so you do not have directv, but instead have dish? And you are trying to use the remote from the Dish box to control the TV correct?

My suggestion is to call DirecTv customer support and request they walk you through the programming process. This is not a difficult process for them to help with. If this does not work, don't be afraid to schedule a technician visit.

Use the search method on the repoteit allows you to go through all the codes until it finds the right one. Look it up on your satellite provider site or do a Google search for (example) "Directv remote control codes" If it's Directv try the attached link DIRECTV Remote Control Code Lookup
any big box store or radio shack should have a suitable replacement. your cable or directv or dish remote can be programmed for the tv depending on which provider you have. go to the website of which one you have and go to "remote codes" section if you dont have cable or dish then go to walmart and get a universal. the more you pay, the more features you will get. look closely at the packaging. thrift stores usually have a whole wall of old remotes in bags you can start looking there too. if you can find a sanyo vcr it may have some tv functions that might have the tv codes on it.

What you can try:
- Check the DirecTV code set for the following brands:
Funai, Symphonic, Sylvania, Aventura, Durabrand,
ESA, Magnavox, INSIGNIA, and Misakai
Your set and the above-named are all built by Funai.
Even if you find one that works, it probably will not give you full functionality as would the original TV remote, which you can probably find at http:\\www.remotes.com
Before you buy any 'universal' remote, please don't expect it to absolutely work with your set; there is no such thing as a 'universal' remote. If you find one that interests you, take the time to look up the mfr.'s website and check the code lists for your set.
If you are a DirecTV or Cox subscriber, you may sync a universal remote to your television using code 1548 or 11548.
