The backlight in your scanner is an 8volt bulb, but your scanner is 10 years old, and the exact replacement is no longer carried by radio Shack. You can, however, replace it with a 6volt 25ma bulb, Radio Shack catalog number 272-1140. Replacing it is fairly simple if you're at all handy with electronics and a soldering iron. Contact your local RS to purchase or order the bulb, and I'm certain that they can have it installed if you're not up to trying it yourself.

Thats strange..........my bulb burnt out 6 months ago and I took the scanner to RadioShack and I was given a bulb that I easily soldered in and it has been working fine everyday since. IMAGINE THAT ADVICE! You can't believe all the answers you see on here. I have seen allot of lame WRONG advice! Research is the best way on Google!!!

I went to RS yesterday 06/26/2011 trying to find a replacement bulb for my 2052 scanner. I was told they no longer carry the 8 volt bulb in the store, ONLY the 6 volt 25ma, and the 12 volt 25 ma at this time. So I did as BillB suggested and purchased the 272-1140 replacement bulb and yes "LET THERE BE LIGHT AGAIN". Thanks for the information.

There is no 'bulb' in LCD/LED tv.
The back light is LCD or LED only.
The shopJimmy also point to the bad inverter and/or LED driver

My Sharp Aquos Liquid Crystal model number LC-60LE600U will not power on. I attempted to reboot the system but it still will not power on. Can this TV be salvaged without a very costly repair?

I've had this problem on one of my sharp tv's.

Have someone help you as it's hard to reach around a large tv sometimes.

Unplug the tv. Hold down the volume down and Handel down button. Now, have the person plug in the power for you. Continue holding the buttons and you'll see the screen flash or turn on.

If that doesn't work, try holding just the power button and plugging it in. If that doesn't work, try all 3 buttons.

You'll see the red light flash green or stay green and turn on. You might hear the power supply click on or hear the buzz of the inverter.

If it doesn't work after a few tries, the backlight bulb might be bad. It's probably been on too many hours, and so, the backlight will burn out. It's not worth fixing (if you can find one) so just buy s new one. That, or the inverter is shot.

Newer LEDs do not have inverters so it'll never burn out totally. However, it is possible for a single bulb to burn out, in which you'll see a dark sport or shadow effect.

TK 760H BACKLIGHT NOT WORKING HOW DO I FIX IT

This is common for these older radio to burn out light bulbs. Do a google search for the service manual, it will show you how to disassemble the rig and what bulbs you need, many of these mobiles are an absolute nightmare to replace the bulbs yourself

When the headlights are turned on, the clock/radio display cannot be seen. Would this be a fuse that needs to be replaced or a burned-out bulb, and, if it is a burned-out bulb, how do you go about...

I think the problem is in your dimmer switch. It controls the dash backlights as well as the display on the radio. Is this a factory radio and are you dash backlights bright?

Backlight not working...........when I first boot up the pc the display will flas on for a second

Hello.

Test with an external monitor and if it works, works, it is the display's backlight or inverter board.
If you were experiencing discoloration in the screen (pinkish lower light hues) before it failed, that would indicate a CCFL backlight issue. If the screen suddenly went dim rather than a slow degradation, the inverter would be indicated.

In either case, a technician in your area should be able to help. Evaluate to see if the repair is cost-effective.

Hope this helps.

Toshiba P10 laptop screen no longer works.

It's not the inverter but the biotin backlight bulb that lights the display from underneath. The screen needs to be replaced unless you want to try and rebuild it and replace the backlight bulb. New screens from EBay should not be more than 70-100 bucks. If you want to try and replace the backlight bulb, the link is below for the procedure.....

I can no longer see the display on the CD player... I guess the backlight is burned out. Can I fix it myself?

its a soldered in bulb, sometimes hard to do (cramped area), but if you are handy with a soldering iron you can try, I think the bulbs are 12volt.
you'd have to remove the old bulb to match it online or at radio shack

the lamps i use on all NAD displays(and have done since the early 1990's) last heaps longer. You can get them from RS components in your country. They are a 14v 37ma type, and seem to last. Never had any come back for replacement again. P/N 351-9585. Increasing the ballast resistor where fitted by 25% in valua also helps preserve them
