Diagnostics of Plasma is a "Top Gun" of skills: it will shut down for any reason, when "brain computer" detects a fault! Plasma TV has a dozen of power supplies, plus "sustainers" and "buffers" which are subject of high voltage and high current circuitry. Therefore, those are guarded well by "shut down" system. Each independent power supply is under constant monitoring, to prevent major overload and possibly structural damage of display itself. 6 years old is enough to accumulate multiple troubles. But the first one , which was ignored or considered "self healing" killed your set! not literally, but at this particular condition. Please: don't even dare to open TV, unless you are the semi-pro! You must start from the very beginning , usually power supply, and if that's not a case(bet, you'll find bloated capacitor), then proceed to check sustains fuses and bloated large capacitors. If you see them bloated and any fuse is open(ceramic ones), STOP right there!
