Hi, what makes the ringing of the phone to be quite to hear is because the ringer that makes you hear when the phone rings is getting weak and it needs to be replaced.
When you replace the ringer the phone will ring better again.
Most likely the small flex cable on the LCD screen in the top part of the phone needs replaced. The speaker in the earpiece must be bad and it is soldered to this flex cable. It can be repaired by a cell phone repairman.
The screen is blank half the time when I open it, sometimes there is a huge delay. The phone is shutting off on it's own.I've gotten new batteries to fix it but the same things keep on happing.
If this isn't something you have tried before, I would HIGHLY recommend you take the phone and the part to a repair shop. This is a difficult procedure that does require special screwdrivers.
A repair shop will not charge you much for this at all, especially with the part in hand.
As you describe it, your problem is the keypad. Maybe dirty or wet inside though that part is a totally replaceable pad with a connector only so you must buy a replacement and replace the broken one.
About how to do that: being the razr a common phone is pretty sure you'll find guides, photos and maybe videos around the web, googling, guiding you on how to do it. Maybe the shop where you buy the replacement can have a forum or guides. The other option is to pay a technician to do it.
If the phone is under 1 yr old I suggest finding the nearest Motorola service center as it is under warranty. If its not covered you could replace the speaker yourself, although would require a small amount of soldering or replacing the entire LCD module which could be expensive. Let me know if you decide to give it a try I can help w/ disassembly.
Good luck.
