Miele G 811 SC Intake/Drain Warning Light Appears... Checked out all the usual possibilities, drainage blockages, intake issues, impeller spins in both direction... all are clear, drains and fills properly. Still having the issue, is it possible, the system just needs to be reset? What are your thoughts? Thanks!

After some trial and error, I resolved this problem on my own by figuring out how to clear the fault codes and reset the system. Hope this helps others...

I'm having the same problem with my G 811 SC, and have tried the same things, but there aren't any reset buttons (and I called Miele as well as searched the internet for any combination of buttons for resetting it). Anyone have ideas?

Miele dishwasher G 5023 SC has fault code F 179 can't find any answers on line can anyone help. It washes dishes ok. Fault appears at end of programme am thinking drain hose?

The F179 fault code on a Miele dishwasher usually indicates an issue with the drainage system. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
  1. Check the Drain Hose: Start by inspecting the drain hose for any kinks, clogs, or blockages. Ensure that the hose is properly connected and not damaged in any way. If you find any issues, clear the blockage or replace the hose if necessary.
  2. Clean the Filters: Remove and clean the filters inside the dishwasher. Accumulated debris in the filters can hinder proper drainage. Rinse the filters under running water to remove any food particles or residue.
  3. Check the Drain Pump: The drain pump is responsible for removing water from the dishwasher during the drain cycle. Make sure the drain pump is free of any obstructions. You can access the drain pump by removing the bottom panel of the dishwasher. If you find any debris or blockage, remove it carefully.
  4. Ensure Proper Installation: Verify that the dishwasher is installed correctly, including the drainage system. Ensure that the drain hose is properly connected to the drain pipe and that there is no obstruction in the plumbing system.
  5. Reset the Dishwasher: Try resetting the dishwasher by turning off the power at the circuit breaker for a few minutes. Then, turn the power back on and run a test cycle to see if the fault code clears.

My Miele dishwasher has water in the bottom of it and won't run

Check the impeller on the pump to make SURE it's turning freely. There could be a piece of debris wedged in there - like glass or a screw from a pot handle. If this is redundant, I apologize.

My Miele G2430 dishwasher stops right after draining in the first minute or so after starting, and the intake and drain light comes on. The solenoid at the end of the intake hose then clicks and the light...

Hi

Intake/Drain light flashing means an issue while draining. The dishwasher is not draining properly. Please check for air gap on the dishwasher is not clogged. It prevents dishwasher from draining properly and sometimes the drain flow is restricted due to gunk. Cleaning or bypassing the air gap will resolve the issue. If this doesn't resolve the issue then it is due to seized (or stuck) drain pump. Keep handy large bowls and towels to soak the water out. Disconnect the power to the dishwasher or turn off the breaker to the dishwasher. Tip machine on its back; remove screws that hold the bottom tray on. Remove the hoses to the main motor, remove electrical connections and switch it on. If the error still appears then turn the rotary selector switch to "Stop/End" or press the "Start/Stop" switch for approx. 5 secs to cancel the error message. Switch the appliance off and then back on again. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Miele g 892 sc intake/drain light is lite and unit will not operate

hi,

this is a general fault light which could mean anything without a Miele Technician coming out and connecting a
laptop to the unit. However most common faults with dishwashers is a drain fault. Check for any kinked hoses and check the drain spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. Usually this is where food gets trapped due to the spigot not being drilled out large enough. This then causes a blockage. Also check the non return valve under the filter and make sure the drain pump can turn freely.
Hope this helps.

Miele G646SC Plus dishwasher Drainage / inlet warning light

I had the same problem a few days ago. I followed the instructions to clean the filter and check to see that the impeller was free to rotate in both directions. The problem persisted. After reading this thread, and a similar one on another site, I tried what mikeboerma suggested in "solution #3", and bingo, problem solved. The magic combination is to push and hold the on/off button and the start/stop button.
