My old mother has bought the Magimix 3200 but is not strong enough to open the lid once it is shut, actually most of the time I'm not strong enough. Can this be fixed?

If you reach the top of the lid, there might be engraved instructions on how to remote the lid. Sometimes you just need to twist it counterclockwise before pulling out the lid. If you still have issues after doing these things, please refer to the product manual via the table of contents to see instructions for removing the lid. Thank you.

Vintage equipment - hard to find a manual, and prior questions on FIXYA did not find a manual online. Might search on EBAY and Amazon periodically and see if someone has a manual included with this very old appliance.

Email your local Magimix distributor with a photo of the machine, the blade and the motor shaft. If you strike someone old enough they may recognise it.

Check that the bit on the lid that activates the switch pushing mechanism in the bowl is working properly.

Exactly what extension do you mean?

It is most likely the way the bowl and lid are set.

Facing the machine:
the bowl locks in, with the handle to your right directly above the switches. The lid has a double tab...see underside of the top of the lid. Place the lid on tightly with both tabs locked into bowls handle. It really clicks in.

I had this problem. I fixed it by turning the bowl to face the opposite way.

There is a little plastic button - the handle has to be over this.
