I have a Kenwood KVT-719DVD head unit. There is a problem somewhere between the faceplate and the head unit. if the face plate gets in the wrong position, the head unit loses power. then i have ot adjust the face plate til it get sinto the right position and it'll start working. Sometimes its a real pain and I have to hold the faceplate in a certain position for it to work. Is the problem the faceplate? or the head unit?

You have not mentioned how old it is. Some older models of Pioneer and Kenwood use a flat ribbon cable between the face plate and the head unit. Due to the constant opening and closing of the faceplate the ribbon develops a crack and you loose display or some times some functions. Will need professional help to replace the above.
you can get on kenwoods website at http://www.partstore.com/Part/Kenwood/Kenwood/E30668005/New.aspx they are $50 the part # is also there you may search for it and see if someone has it cheaper though.
Did you install it, they generally sense whether youre moving by having a connection to your handbrake, if this is not connected the unit thinks youre moving but usually gives an on screen message. To disable this you usually have to ground the brake sensor wire( connect it to the body of the vehicle) YOU TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Per the owner's manual, you're supposed to call Kenwood technical support if the display doesn't correctly reset or come back on and/or if the disc won't eject.
