Toshiba 26AV502U 26 in. LCD HDTV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Sep 28, 2010

I own a Toshiba 26AV502U and the TV volume automatically lowers as if I was holding the respective button. Last night I had no issues but today this problem first surfaced. I checked to see if it was a button stuck on the remote or TV and found no issues. Don't know what else to try... help!!

My tenplus year old Toshiba 32" TV is stuck in standby mode

You have an old tv so the best problems are bad capacitors and bad grounds. Have someone pull the board and search for high voltage caps [160volts or 250 volts] with 1 to 4.7 microfarads. Should be two or maybe three and check all grounds. If the 4 amp fuse is good than the above will save your TV.

We just purcased Toshiba 26AV502U, now the screen is blank

Heard back from Toshiba. They said to unplug the TV, wait at least 3 minutes, and then plug it back in. This should allow it to reset itself. Sounded too simple, but after doing just that the tv has worked fine for the last three days! Toshiba noted that if this didn't resolve the problem we should contact them to have a Toshiba Authorized service person come check out the tv. It worked for us, hopefully it'll work for you too. Good Luck
