Perhaps replace your power cord. Borrow power cord from repair shop. If it works it's the cord. Also if the TV is plugged into power bar make sure the power bar hasn't been inadvertently turned off.
You Power Cord must be bad. If you cannot get on the laptop by using just the power cord, then the power cord is bad and needs to be replaced. Also it sounds like you've been operating off your battery since the power cord is bad, but now the battery is dead because the bad power cord was not charging it.
Get a new AC Adapter and Power Cord. Or it could be that the pin where you plug the power cord into the table is damaged or broken.
If you dont have power to the machine, your electric cord from machine to power point is broken. To check this turn on at power point and at machine hold cord in hand and shake if machine makes any noise you have a broken lead which can be cut at break and fixed, but better replacing with new cord Hope this helps
Verify that you obtained an exact replacement power adapter for the Dell. If it is an exact replacement then try this. Disconnect power adapter. Remove battery. Reconnect power adapter without the battery. If it turns on, then power off and place battery back in. Then try again. If problem returns, there could be a problem with the battery itself.
