Do you hear any click click sounds? A common theme with Samsung. My tv did click and it was the capacitors.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK7zFBBU6p4&feature=related I watched a few of these and was able to see my tv had 4 bad capacitors, de-soldered and replaced them for under $5.00.

My samsung 550 plasma will not show a screen with I turn the tv on, stays black. I have to cycle power at least 3-4 times before the picture will show up. Once it does, it seems to kick in and out of HD....

Unfortunately although Samsung make great screens they do have a big problem with power supplies. The one in mine went 3 times before I replaced the screen. We have a lot of Samsung's at work and we replace 5-10 power supplies per year. If it's under warranty it'll be done at no cost otherwise you're looking at around $250 (Australian) unfortunately.

My Samsung LN52A550 has colored vertical lines in the middle and right side of the screen is black. Is the problem related to T-CON?

Yes,this problems alway the problems and the causes by the T-CON decodering board. If this problems acurring by it self.If this problems are causes by and an object or a person by hitting the LCD screen panel itself, than LCD screen is dead, not repairable.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish T-CON decodering board for the replacement.

When i turn on my samsung LN52A550 it usually looks red and then gets lines across the piture but after about 20 minutes it clears. Anyone ever hear of this?

I had this problem on my Samsung set too, along with capacitor issues. I fixed this issue, though, by disconnecting and reseating the long ribbon cable between the main board (the one with the cable jacks) and the LCD controller board (near the center top of the set). On mine, I had to pinch ears on either side of the connector on each end to remove the connector, and then I clicked the connector back in, and viola, no more lines! This is likely due to minor corrosion on the connector pins, and reseating clears the problem. If it doesn't, you may have a bad LCD controller board, which can be usually found on ebay.

Watching ln52a550 and picture went blank. Hooked 32" samsung up and everything works fine. Anything I should do before contacting warranty service?

This model has had problems with electrolytic capacitors on the power supply which will cause your problem. I've fixed several of them by replacing these caps. The caps will most likely be bulged or mushroomed on top if they are bad. This is the most common problem that I have found on this model.

If it is in warranty, then I would just contact Samsung and they will send a tech out and he will fix it for you at no cost.

My Samsung LN52A550 LCD TV will not stay on.

The ticking noise usually comes from the power section of the tv. Usually it is a capacitor failing. As far as the cost of repair this can go either way ie cheap or expensive. It will dpend on what exactly has failed and if it requires a board replacement or just a part.

I'm going to assume this isn't under warrenty anymore. It is covered if it is. You need to get some repair estimates from Samsung and any tv repair shops. Then keep and eye out for a replacement. Make sure you include any shipping costs or other costs when you are totaling up the estimates. If it gets close to the replacement cost then you will have to choose if you want a new tv or have a repair done.
