I have replaced my Kodak ESP Printer head twice in two years. I'm with who ever said Kodak refuses top acknowledge the problem. The customer service told me that all printers have problems and they get very few complaints. I dont think I'm buying anymore Kodak products.

Find the "menu" button on your printer. Push it to open the available options. Use the up and down arrows on your printers key pad to move from choice to choice. Look for something similar to "maintenance" in these settings and push the "ok" button on the printers keypad to open this area. When you open the maintenance area, use the up and down arrows to find the "clean print head" option and choose "ok" from the printers keypad. When you open this option, follow the prompts by answering the questions and it will walk you through cleaning the machine. When finished it will have you check your print quality and make sure that it does not need to repeat the cleaning again. Once the print quality is acceptable to you, I would suggest using the "align print head" option also available in the maintenance area options and follow the instructions to configure this too.

SOURCE: esp 5 printer will not print color photos

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: how to clean print heads on kodak esp-3

Press and hold Cancel and Copy button simultaneously until the On/Off light flashes green. you will see a flashing green on your printer it means its now cleaning the printhead

You can also clean a printhead using computer., first you need to launch the Home center software On your computer and on the uppr right corner of the windows of the software click help icon(?) then go to maintenance and under maintenance you should see the clean printhead. GudlucK!

SOURCE: My Kodak ESP 3 all-in-one printer will not print

you may try to clean the printhead and recalibrate the printer. if this will not correct the problem, you need to replace the printhead. I suggest contacting Kodak technical support to have a replacement printhead.

Why can't my kodak all in one ESP 5 not print black all of a sudden? There is no color ink but 3/4 of black ink and it will not print this letter so there isnt any color needed anyway.

Remove print head. Now take vessel with 10-20 ml of ISO PROPYL ALCHOHOL ( medical spirit).dip the ink head for 15- 20 min..some old ink may come out..some clogged nozzle should be realesed..no issue keep it.
U may repeat again.dry it.don't used hot blower..just Clean it with tissues.
Also try to clean golden point on printed circuit with wiping eraser carefully on it.make it clean n shiny

You can try to remove the cartridges and place a few drops of aamonia where the ink transfers through the head.
Replace the cartridges and power off.
Let stand 30-45 minutes and restart with a cleaning.

Kodak esp 5 will not print in black anymore. It had a 3/4 full black cartridge in when it stopped but I installed a new one to to make sure and it still will not work. I have used all of the self...

Sounds like print head needs replacing, try the troubleshooting guide on Kodak website, appears to be a common problem with these Kodak printers, if new it should be covered under warrenty although if not they are expensive
