The best way to clear this glitch is to RESET the scanner to original factory settings, but beware -- this action with erase all data that you have programmed into the scanner. The scanner is useless if locked in the WIRED mode though, so I recommend the RESET.

- Power the scanner OFF
- Press and hold the 2, 9 and HOLD keys while you power the scanner ON
- The word CLEAr will appear after about 3 seconds. Do not power the scanner OFF until this message is gone from the display.

If you don't already have it, you can download and print your scanner's operating manual here:

Why does my computer on bootup ask for system password then locks up too many attempts?

If you mean Bios password try this:
Resetting the BIOS PSSWRD, Open the computer case and look inside on the motherboard. Dell has diagrams of this. Locate the Little Jumper. It should have small print if you can read on the mother board indicating PSSWRD CLR. Boot the computer to Setup. Carefully remove jumper, becareful of static, and then once removed hit enter. Shutdown the computer, and restart and enter Setup again F2. The password should be CLR. Turn OFF and PUT Jumper back into place and Turn Back ON. You should be able to access Setup.

If you then boot to setup-check your hard drives and floppy that are seen. You may solve those issues in setup.

If you mean the windows password: boot to F8 safe mode and log
on to the ADMINISTRATOR not your log in that has admin rights.
Disable all passwords and restart.

My cat stepped on the keyboard and the screen went black, I don ot know what keys she pressed

try rebooting the computer and as soon as it begins to start up (before the windows screen shows) tap repeatedly on the "F8" key on the top of your keyboard. when a boot menu appears choose "safe mode" when the computer loads you will have the window default settings and you should see your screen. If this works simply reboot the computer and it will load to normal mode. If this does not work let me know and I will attempt to help you further

I have an Audi A4 1996 model year.. I have the radio code from the dealer.. I just don't know which buttons to push to unlock it.. I have already tried; RDS and FM2; FM1/2 and DX; FM1 and AM.. Any...

maybe this will help.....
the following steps must be carried out in the correct order:
  • Turn on the radio - the word "SAFE" appears in the display.
Press the FM 1 and AM buttons simultaneously and hold them down until "1000" lights up in the display. Release the buttons! Do not, under any circumstances, continue holding them down or press them once again. This would cause the radio to consider the number "1000" to be the input code number.
  • Use station buttons 1 to 4 to input the code number on your Radio Card. Use button 1 to input the first digit of the code number, button 2 to input the second digit, and so on.
For technical reasons, the first digit can only be a 1 or left blank. The following three digits, however, may be any number from 1 to 9 .
  • Once the code is shown on the display, press the FM 1 and AM buttons again simultaneously and hold them down until the word "SAFE" appears in the frequency display. Release buttons! Soon afterward, a frequency will be displayed.
  • Should you inadvertently input the incorrect code number in attempting to release the electronic lock-up, the word "SAFE" will appear in the display - first blinking and then continuous.

You can now repeat the entire canceling procedure once. The number of attempts will be shown in the display.

If you input another incorrect number, your radio will be locked up for approximately one hour . The radio will not play. Leave the radio switched on. After an hour, the display with the number of attempts goes out and you can cancel the electronic lock-up as described above.

This cycle - two attempts, one hour lock-up still applies.
Best to you.

I bought an Audi A3 secondhand with audi chorus Blaupunkt-WERKE GMBH 7648 245 380 SERIEL NO AUZ1Z2X678588 ,the radio is on a safe mode please help me with the code and the method to enter the code

You must retrieve the code that comes with the Audi's radio unit. To change to safe mode:
  1. Turn on radio. The radio display shows "SAFE".
  2. Press the P.Scan and RBDS buttons simultaneously and hold until "1000" shows on the display. Release the buttons. Do NOT press these buttons again, otherwise the radio will consider "1000" to be the code.
  3. Use Preset buttons 1 ... 4 to enter the four-digit code number from your radio card. Preset button 1 corresponds to the first digit, Preset button 2 corresponds to the second digit, etc. Each press of the button increments the number by 1.
  4. Once the code shown on the display is correct, press the P.Scan and RBDS buttons simultaneously and hold until the word "SAFE" appears in the display, then release the buttons.
  5. The radio should unlock and be usable shortly afterwards.
  6. If an incorrect code is entered, the word "SAFE" appears, first flashing and then continuously. You can repeat the above steps to unlock the radio once more, the number of attempts will be shown in the display. If an incorrect code is entered again, you radio will be locked for about one hour. After one hour - the radio must stay on and the key must remain in the ignition lock - if the display goes out, the you can repeat the above procedure to unlock again. The cycle - two attempts, one hour lock-up - still applies.
  7. If you lose your radio code, contact your Audi dealer.
