Try repeatly turning on and off the unit by removing the battery each time the lens error screen pops up...that worked for me this summer when mine S210 got jammed with a sand particle. The next level is to get access to the front cover. That requires more knowledgethan I'm currently aware of as I've only removed the back cover and the LCD retainer plate. Tomorrow I'm going after the front cover and I'll let you know if I'm successful. The entire camera seems to be accessible with a small phillips head screwdriver and a lot of patience. Taking apart an S210 requires great peace of mind...don't go in until you're in a good space...

My daughter tryed to download and now the camera will not take pic and it says "card protected"how do we fix it????

Take the card out of the camera. There is a tiny plastic switch at the edge of the card. Your daughter must have accidentally put it in the "lock" position to prevent taking photos. Unlock the card and use normally.

Loud electrical shock noise when flash goes off

I had the same problem with my camera a year ago and I took it in for service and they repaired it. I'm sorry but I don't remember what the problem was. It cost me about $90 for the service.

Stopped taking pictures . . .

When previous pictures display fine but does not take new one directs the problem to camera mode problem. Some component is at fault in the main board which controls menu functions and display is damaged. For the solution, the main board is repaired or replaced by technician. The repair cost may run between $100 to $200 in US.

Help!!!!!!CD400 disc error message

Will the CD read in your computer? If so, try this freeware utility that has been recommended here in the forum. I downloaded it and actually had to use it last week on my memory stick. It WORKS! http://www.webattack.com/get/pcinspector.shtml
