It looks that the handset is not charging from the base unit: if you have a multimeter you can check that you have a voltage slightly higher than your battery pack voltage on the base unit. Make sure the contacts are clean and If you have no reading, then the charger on the base unit is very likely defective.
If you do not have a multimeter, check and clean the (two) contacts on your handset and base unit to ensure proper electrical contact and that you see the charging indicator displayed on both the base and the handset.
If that does not work, to assess if the issue is with the handset, swap the phones from the base and the stand-alone charging station and repeat the test: if it works, swap the batteries between the handset to see if it makes any difference. If it works, then the issue might be with the original base unit handset as you have now 'tested' the new battery on the alternative handset. To summarize, it is a test by trial and error swapping.
Hope the information is of assistance.

Blank display screen

I got my display to come on while on the base unit, by making charging contacts connect. When I did this, then battery indicated it was low, then though I had taken it out a working phone. Maybe the fact is one of charging units are not charging correctly if have several. I have a 3 system unit and it is the base that seems to have the problem.

Base phone not charging even when phone left in phone base overninght

take a volt meter and check the contacts the phone sits on in the base station, there should be around 5 volts DC there, if there is I would replace the batteries in the phone, if there is no voltage at the charging contacts in the base then the base station is defective, another quick way to determine the cause of the problem is take the phone out of the base station and put it into one of the other phones chargers, then if the phone does charge up the base station charger is defective, u will need to replace the phone or not use the base station for charging. these are not repaired except under factory warranty.

My phone will not charge

It sounds like the battery is a goner but I wouldn't swear to it without having another to test it. Over the course of the last month or so, did you notice that the battery life was shorter and shorter? It will look like it is charging but holds no charge whatsoever upon removal from the charging base. The best way to test this, of course, is to install a new battery. Finally, is this an older phone or a new one? Rechargeable batteries are good for about 2 years, less if you don't let it fully discharge and recharge although in the newer types it's not as much of a problem. Let me know what you find out.

I just bought a new Vtech cordless phone, 5.8GHz, model CS5111, hooked up the new battery and the base and have been charging it now for Twenty-Two (22) hours and the red charge light is still on!!! The...

The red "charge" light comes on to indicate that the handset is inserted properly into the base. This is it's normal function. No further action is nessesary. :)

New batteries not holding charge

The problem is probably the AC adapter. If you have a voltmeter you can see what voltage is on the adapter output plug going to the base unit. Unplug the small plug from the base unit and measure. Since the batteries are 3.6 v, the power adapter plug needs to be something greater. Maybe 4.5 v. It should say on the AC adapter what it puts out (volts and max current). Usually the center is negative and the outside barrel of the plug is positive. Put the volt meter to 5v DC and put the black lead in the plug center and the red lead to the outside barrel of the small plug. If you measure a negative voltage, switch the leads. Make sure the Volt meter is not in current mode or you will be shorting the adapter at its output plug. If you get a reading larger the 4 volts then the problem is probably inside the base. There should be some circuitry to minimize charging current to the battery,.

Diverse 2010 phones stopped working

I have solved this problem by un-plugging the base phone for the night, and then plugging in again this morning, when it started working again, but I don't understand why! anyway, problem solved.
