EMACHINES T5274a desktop produces continuous long beeps, it will not boot, been about 4 months since turned on, worked fine before. Monitor will not detect it either. Solutions attempted - -unplugged and...

beeping could be a number of things, memory failed processor failed. or even power supply not working correctly, memory fail will not let you turn on pc so take them out and try one card in one slot swap slots as one of the slots may have failed.

Will not boot

You can goto BIOS setup be pressing DEL, ESC, or one of the "F" [function} keys just before " memory count " finishes. To see what is turn 'on' or 'off' look through the menus & submenus.look for video [ ON if you have 'on board' video and off if you have a EXTERNAL video card.]
temperaty take EVERYTHING out by unpluging the wires going to computer (mother board) [cd's, h/d, floppy drive, and any other extras] You can keep them 'dangling' from e.i. floppy, cds [rom, ram, dvd etc.] keep the memory, display adapter (if you have a EXTERNAL video card) and boot up the computer. You must see the memory "count up" in DOS (black screen with numbers running on left side of screen) .At first if the machine does not turn on, replace the video card. Then after UNPLUGING a/c power put back ONE piece of equipment at a time (of cause you will replug a/c power)and rebooting.

Moniter has a yellow tint

Well...of course it won't work! Your backlight inverter are busted... Send it back for repaired, if you are still under warranty or you can repaired yourself by replacing those faulty capacitors from the inverter.

Does the led on front of the monitor stay blue or does it become amber ?
If it becomes amber, then you are not getting a signal.
No harm in trying this : You can try to see if it is a contact problem.
With the monitor unplugged.
Use a small paper clip to run in and out of the blue vga plug holes a few times each to make sure they are not plugged or gummed up.
If that doesn't help and you know that your video cord is good, then I am afraid to say that more than likely there is a problem with yor video card.

If it stays blue then the signal is there but the screen isn't fully lighting up, leading to a failing power-inverter board or a bad bulb.

open it up and look for defective capacitors on the video input board and replace them. Should probably replace the 470uf caps on the power board while you are in there.
