Hello, I have to install a Hunter universal remote receiver, Model 27185 toa Hampton Bay ceiling fan w. light, Model 468-282 today. The receiver has 5 wires, red to light, black to fan, a live black to power, white neutral and a white common ground. The fan has three wires. A blue that feeds the light, a black that feeds the fan and a neutral white wire. The house wiring only has three. A black power, a white neutal and a bare ground to screw on the box. How do I connect these correctly together to operate. Thanks for your help.

LIGHT AND FAN ARE NOT WORKING. HAMPTON BAY LIGHT IS NOT WORKING

Could be a loose wire up inside the fan. I would be very careful in its use. Might I suggest getting an electrician in to resolve this issue. You do not want to battle a fire over a fan light issue.

Hampton Bay Redington IV ceiling fan remote won't work

the reciever is under the cover for your fan to the ceiling. Try pulling the switches on you fan then using the remote after each try. then check your wall switches,,, it could be wired to one.

Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.

Lights flicker when turned off by remote

I had this same problem with a Hampton Bay fan with a remote light switch. I call the manufacturer of the of the switch and was told that the model switch I had would not work correctly with CFL bulbs. The problem is with the dimmer function. You either need to change the bulbs to incandescent, or change the remote receiver in the ceiling. Hampton Bay was kind enough to send me a new receiver that works with CFL. The CFL units are white, and the incandescent is black. Hope this helps you.
