We have a Franke Corniola TA721 mixer tap that is leaking around the base where it swivels. Does anyone know how to go about repairing it as I have a nasty feeling that it is going to be expensive to get a plumber in. Thanks, Chris

SOURCE: tap needs new ''O'' ring on swivelling neck

Usually there is a retaining nut at the base of the spout that unscrews. It looks like apart of the faucet. Once you unscrew the nut, you can pull out the spout exposing two washers that can be replaced. If I had a picture of the faucet, I woul know exactly what to tell you. I'm just using an explanation that are for most faucets. Good luck!

Leaking sink tap base

If I understand this correctly, you will need to remove the tap handle, the surround which sits against the sink, then the tap body, then unscrew the spindle till it comes free, and replace the o-ring on the spindle.

If the leak is under the sink, or if it is a mixer tap, please clarify that.

It appears that the seal at the base of the tap is worn or the screw collar is loose - try hand-tightening it. It may cure your problem. Plumbers tape is a white tape that helps seal water pipe joints!

Kitchen aid mixer leaking yellow oil is it repairable it still tu

It can be. This may require replaing the plate that the shaft comes through, since there is now enough play to allow the grease that is in the nead to leak through. You can find the parts online, but be ware, it involves tapping out pins and undoing many screws. Manuals are available online at Kitchenaid.com

Leaking oil at the base

A TV show "How it is made" was in the Kitchen Aid factory and they used a thick grease and no oil in the mixer. Does your unit get hot? Maybe its melting the grease (dark brown)..

Franke Little Butler instant hot water dispenser

I have the same unit and had a similar problem. If yours is the same as mine, look at the top of the water heater unit. The center spigot is for the for the how water outflow which is connected to surgical type rubber tubing. The hot water eventually dried out the tubing and it cracks, causing it to leak. I had to cut out the decayed portion and replace it. Franke sent me a replacement kit at no charge but I did replace the fitting on top of the unit. The fitting is a standard nipple that any HW store should carry. Mine is a female-to-female reducer that then mates to a nylon barbed fitting which the tubing goes into. Importantly the Franke supplied kit has nylon ratcheting hose clamps that keep the tubing in place as well as a barbed union with hose clamps to join to the exisiting hose feed (to the faucet).

Hope this helps! I'm now struggling with the hot water tap leaking after using it. It seems to stop after a while but it drips for some time. If you can help me there that would be great!
