The red whit and yellow connectors are for the Component connectors, your cable is for Composite connection - incompatible one to each other.
Your tv also has that yellow red and white connectors somewhere on it - probably on the side. Plug the cable there and respect the color coding or it will not work.

I have already added my austar to the side of the tv and now want to connect the hard drive and playstation 3...

The PS3 can use only those connectors so in must be put it there. The MyStar box can on the other hand send the correct signal to the Red, Green and Blue connectors so buy another 2 cables with 3 headed connectors and plug them accordingly - the RGB connectors with one cable (make sure to match the colors - don't mix them) and the Red and white with another (the yellow connector will be left open).

I dont know where to plug in my red, yellow and white cords for HDMI on my 2006 viore 42 in. plasma tv

Hello, welcome to Fixya!

The yellow, red and white cord is called RCA. It different from HDMI.

The yellow stands for video (display), while the red and white stands for Audio (sound) Left and Right.

Hdmi is different from RCA (yellow, red and white). They are two different cords and connection.

Both can be connected separately at the back/side of the TV.

Please give me more information about the problem for more details.

Regards.

Hi, have had bedroom decorated and playstation had to be disconnected for few days,, now plugged back in and not playing a dvd or a game,,,any ideas?? the lights come on ok but no picture on screen,, tv...

double check all your cords and that they are hooked up tightly and correctly.

if that fails try hooking it up using the AUX (yellow, white, red) cord. It could have been reset which means if you were using a HDMI output it was set back to default AUX.

and finally try using a different HDMI cord, everything goes bad eventually

I turn the ps3 on but the video doesn't appear. i checked the tv and cords and nothing was wrong with them.

Did you check that the AV cords are plugged in right? Red to Red, White to White, Yellow to Yellow? Are they properly connected in the back of the PS3 not loose connections? It could also be that the PS3 display settings are at a really high resolution for your T.V. Try reset the PS3 resolution settings back to factory settings by turning the PS3 off and then hold down the power button for 3-5 seconds and you will hear some beeps it will load your PS3 resolution at 480i. Should give you your screen back.

How do i set up my old playstation 1???

Hi,

Connect the cables to the ports on the back of the PlayStation console marked "audio out" and "video out." Make sure to match the same-coloucoloured plugs on the cables and the ports - yellow to yellow, red to red, white to white.

Connect the other ends of the audio/video cables to the ports on the back of the television or VCR marked "audio/video input.

Connect the AC power cord to the PlayStation game console and plug it into a wall socket for power.

Turn on the television, VCR (if included in the connection) and PlayStation console.

Press a button on the remote control to access the audio/video inputs for your television or VCR. The button will be labeled "video," "aux," "auxiliary," "tuner" or "line TV/video." You may need to set your television or VCR to channel 00, 90, 91 or 92. If the remote control does not have the buttons described here, check the product's instruction manual.

Regards.

Try to hook up playstation or Wii to the ybp ports at back of tv and can only get picture in black and white

you cannot use the ybp The wii and playstation only have one video cord (yellow) and 2 audio cords (red & white)
You can only hook up these wires to the same on tv. If you don't have this option, I suggest using a vcr or some type of converter

Connecting playstation

good day,
i am eltoyosi and am here to help you.
the first question i will ask you is this.....does your TV set have an av-output?
if it does then make sure you plug the AV cords from the game in the following manner...........
the yellow cord is for picture display and make sure it goes into the yellow cord on your TV set.
the red and white cords are both for sounds of the left and right speakers on your TV set. try this connection and you are set to have fun with your game,
thanks.
