An Ocean on Cricket cant be flashed for picture text because Cricket uses MMS and there is no MMS Client in the Binary of the firmware on Helio phones because Helio phones use a different server-type to transmit their data. They use a MMSC/PictureMail based client. However a good flasher/tech can flash Internet/WAP on that Pantech Ocean.
youll have to find someone with a helio account to activate or "switch" the phone for you. from there on, once you have access to the dialling, do as instructed by your phone company.
Appreciate the direct "Ask Me'. Unfortunately the Helio Ocean is not available in my country and neither do Helio nor Cricket have a service here in the Philippines.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
I managed to fix mine! It takes some doing and is probably not for the faint hearted. You have to disassemble the Ocean from the battery side, removing the qwerty keyboard, to gain access to the slider assembly.
Disassemble the slider (pay attention to the spring!) and clean all contacts and make sure all of the flex cables are seated completely. Mine was working OK the qwerty way, but was blank and/or garbled the long way. Now it works great!
