Frigidaire Gallery front load dryer. 6 yrs old. Start knob broke shortly after buying leaving us with post only. Have been using wrench to turn post to start dryer. Tonight post broke off to base. Can this knob be replaced?

I understand that you are trying to replace the selector knob on your Frigidaire washer, GLTF2940E. Normally this is not a DIY job and we would recommend having a technician come out to the home in order to properly disassemble your front panel and replace the selector knob as needed. turn the start and it's like the drum gets stuck. then starts smelling like burning.

You can use the knob to turn the washer to the correct cycle, and then use a pair of long nose pliers to gently pull the center hub out to start the washer. This is of course only a work around. I'll post more if I figure out how to fix this as well.

Just get the model number of your machine and buy a new one, you cannot fix it by trying to assemble again, spring had pressure, it may hurt you if you try to fix it, It is much advisableto replace it with new one

have you been able to turn it with some pliers try it and then just get a replacement of ebay

all kenmore named washer will have 110 as first 3 digits of model #..the he washers are usually good washers..like all front loads they have their quirks ..if you read reviews from other consumers they indicate problems ..most of which are easily remedied by reading owners manuals..mold /mildew usually a bleach clean every few months ..vibration need real solid floor..oversuds use HE detergents only..just a matter of changing mind set from top loads with 25 gals of water each fill to a front load with 5-6 gals each fill..top load with 750-850 rpm spin speed to front load 1000-1200 rpm ..if willing to learn proper use and what to expect they can best investment..just don't let opinions of those unwilling to adapt affect your decision

if you have had 12 yrs of trouble free service i think it would be safe to say there fine.especialy if they are'nt impeding the movement of the chassis or drum(or disturbing the operation of the shocks)if your still not sure contact the manufacture.hope this helps & good luck on putting that beast back together.thanx for using fix-ya,& please rate all replys, THENTHEREWERE

does it turn and can you hear it ratchet as it turns
