Overheating of harddisk is very common in laptops.
But it can cause problems. So i suggest you to clean all the vents, get the heatsink cleaned or replaced at service center. Also you can decrease the spindown time of harddisk to minimize its usages...
for changing spindown time go to..Control Panel>>>All Control Panel Items>>>Power Options>>>Edit Plan Settings>>>click change advance power settings>>> in advance reduce the turnoff harddisk time to 1 Minutes.

hope this will help for sure.....cheers

Hard drive noises usually indicate a mechanical failure. Call dell and have them resolve the issue with a replacement drive.

Left mouse button on Dell Latitude D600 won't depress. Will work if I really 'lean on it.' Can it be repaired?

There is a small circuit board with micro buttons that are pushed by detents from the pastic mouse buttons. One of your micro buttons has collapsed. The board can be replaced but it would probably be cheaper to replce the entire palmrest board.

I'm getting a stop error code 0X000000ED,0X86714368, 0X0000006, it's on a Dell Latitude D600 laptop?

Unmountable boot volume indicating that the system cannot successfully read the boot sector of the hard drive.
Run the diagnostics on the hard drive, if it fails, replace the hard drive.
If diags pass, boot to the recovery console, run chkdsk /r If it still gives the error after that, you can try reinstalling windows.
If that fails to resolve, then again, replace the hard disk drive

UNABLE TO BOOT DELL D600 - FAILURE TO DETECT HARD DISK

If you press F12 during bootup, you should get the boot menu. Run the hard disk diagnostic. If the hard disk is bad, you will get a DST Short Test Error code.

Replacing the hard disk in a D600 is a piece of cake though so if you need a new HD, it's easy to do. The tedious work will come afterward.

Low disk space

sounds like the additional memory is not recognized, but the low disk space refers to your hard drive. Either delete some files and defrag or upgrade your hard drive.
