Miele Gas hob KM326G 2 burners won't stop clicking

Hello Leighvz,
The rings around the burners should be cleaned periodically. Each one has a series of holes to let the gas come out and have to be set back perfectly or else you will continually have this problem. You can clean with regular dish soap an water and a sponge or rag.
Also, If you put a pot or pan on the burner and it is too large it will cut off oxygen to the burner causing your clicking. The clicking only occurs when the oxygen supply is not enough. Hope this helps

My ignitor on my ge cooktop keeps clicking slowly in off mode

As it relates to 5 burner gas cooktop Model Number JGP 963SEJ1SS
First - Ignite the flame then reduce the flame to between low and medium.  If the igniter continues to click, you most likely have a contact switch issue related to the problem burner.
Unplug the cook top and turn off the gas.  After the gas is turned off, disconnect the gas line.
Remove the cook top.

Unscrew and Remove ALL of the burner bases by lifting them up.  The ceramic igniters may be difficult to remove but they will come loose if worked out slowly.
Pull of the wire connected to the igniter.
Remove to cook top top plate from the base, exposing the internal gas valves and wiring.
All of the burners are wired in parallel.   Lift off and unsnap the casing of the problem igniter switch.  The repair may require something as simple as, 1- cleaning the contact strips, or 2- slightly bending the non stationary contact strip to keep it from coming in contact with the stationary contact when in the off position, or 3- replacing the switch.
Unless you comfortable and understand how electric systems and switches work, this is a job for a qualified repair person.

Stove top ignition doesn't stop ticking

My Dacor cooktop had a similar problem of continuously clicking igniters. I unplugged it a couple months ago and used a piezoelectric igniter to get it started. Then I looked in the Dacor FAQ and it said to clean the ceramic igniter posts with alcohol not water. I had to scrape some gunk off a couple of the posts with a knife before cleaning with alcohol. Now it works.'

I think the igniters use electrical conductivity to detect when they need to spark, so even slight invisible contamination on the igniter insulator can confuse the sensing system. Also they all seem to fire as a group, so all of them need to be clean because if any one of them is dirty then they will all malfunction.

Spark igniter discharging when turned off

Hi
It sounds like somebody clean up the stove and the electric sending unid is wet, try this: the knob that correspond to the ingniter that it's clicking nonestop, take the knob out and you will see the sending unit, pull it out unplug it and dry it out and then try it again, it should work properly after it's dry.

My GE Profile gas cook top was just cleaned. Now the starter keeps clicking and the only way we can stop it is to unplug the appliance. As soon as we plug it back in it continues to click.

if you have a multi meter you can figure this out. check to see if you have continuity through the switches while they are in the off position and unplugged from the spark mod. if you do replace the wire harness. if you dont replace the spark mod.

Spark continuously on

If you have recently cleaned it, you may have gotten moisture behind the knobs and into the spark switches. Be very careful not to let moisture get behind knobs. Very dangerous. If this is the case, they may dry out themselves and stop sparking. If not you may need to replace a spark switch behind knob.

Constant clicking when turned on

I am not familiar with your particular model, but if you just had it installed, I'd say that the outlet you are using to plug it in is on a GFI circuit (ground fault interrupt) You cannot use a cooktop with automatic re-ignition on a GFI circuit, as it will do exactly what you are describing. Easiest way to check this is to go to home depot and buy a little outlet tester that will tell you if your polarity is reversed in the outlet (another possible cause) or if it is a gfi or non gfi. The other thing you could try is unplugging the unit and plug it into an extension cord. Then take the cord and run it to a non gfi outlet in a hallway or anywhere but the kitchen or bathroom areas and see if it behaves itself then. Hope this helps!
