Question about Heating & Cooling

Our Carrier Comfort Zone II thermostat, which has 2 zone readouts, currently shows a temperature of 00, as in zero zero, on one zone. That is the main zone for our home. Zone 2, for spare bedrooms, etc. shows the proper temp. An additional smaller Carrier thermostat for our master bedroom zone, (zone 3), also shows correct temp. I have fiddled with the overly complex settings, and I am at a loss to get the "zero-zero" temp reading back to "normal" in the Zone1 display of ambient temp. We are a long way away from any competent Carrier service people, or even competent HVAC company in general. Unit is 9 years old, but is only used when occupied, aprox 7 months per year. Any ideas or fixes? Thank you, David

I've read the pdf manual a few times; no where does it talk about a 00 "zero-zero" ambient temp display. I had also gone to the Carrier site and filled out that questionaire form; since it's a Saturday, I figured I would not hear anything from Carrie until sometime Monday...

thanks for those "suggestions", but I had already done those steps.

Do you feel very cold in the 00 zone or is the actual temperature just as good as in the other zones. If it is as good as other zones then the display is faulty, while if it s colder and freezing then the thermostat is faulty (I dont think so). If the temp is fine by you then do not worry about the display/LCD. You can replace it when you occupy the premises next. While if the temp is really closer to 00 then the thermostat needs replacement.

This .pdf file may be of help to you:
www.brivis.com.au/.../Carrier%20Comfort%20Zone%20II%20Owner's%20Guide.pdf
Perhaps you could get some help from Carrier Support here:
http://www.residential.carrier.com/support/index.shtml
I noticed they have an option of talking to an engineer, and perhaps they could explain how to reset or set the unit.
Hope this helps.
