I bought this from a buddy of mine then my other buddy hooked it up for me and the sound isn't workin and I think the speaker is broke or whatever you know. Are the speakers sensitive?

Test sound via headphones to isolate problem. The green input is for speakers. Some cards will also allow you to change input / output, but this is dependent on their software.

Replace 4x 470uf capacitors with 63v ones (C10, C11, C15 and C17) This will solve the problem guaranteed

Whatever I do, ie reset, turn up sound, change voices, go to silent and then back.....still my tomtom is silent and will not speak to me! What can I do

I think the speaker might broke, or something connecting the speaker. It might also could be a software bug, if the software on the TomTom is replacable. If not, it's probably the speaker.

I have an aspire 5100, the sound has always been bad, I think the speakers are just too small and located in the wrong place. Don't think there is much you can do. I sometimes use external speakers with mine.

The speakers do not sound good,

I bought cheapy speakers for my computer and they sound amazing ... like $20 at Target. :)

However, if you are looking for decent sound, here is a review of some top speakers.

Mine came with detailed instructions in the box, which amounted to - plug into the electric outlet on the wall, and then put the green plug into the green dot on the back of my computer. Super easy!

bought the same amp second hand and had same problem as there are two seperate amp chips inside one for front speakers and one for the centre and rears it could be the actual amp chip that drives the front speakers has died as there is no built in speaker protection so over driving these speakers will result in the amp chip blowing . it may be something simple but it was not on mine had to buy new amp chip and solder in that sorted the problem for me !

if you are trying to get rid of all the speakers & just hooking up the sound to the tv speakers, what you need to look for on the back of the dvd system is you need to find an audio out. I know the is one or two audio input, but I do not think there are any audio outputs. I don'e think you can get sound out of this system without your speakers hooked up. sorry.

First, this is the worst radio Cobra ever made. I don't know why they still make it. Its horrible.

You probably have got a bad mic, or a break in a wire in the mic cord. With out a properly functioning mic, the radio will not go into receive mode. Thus you will have no sound.

I wouldn't waste money on a new mic for that radio. Instead save a little more money and get a cobra 29. its a much better radio. Also, if you haven't, when you get the cobra 29, read the part about SWR in the manual.

You must tune the antenna. If you do not, you will destroy the radio over time.
