1. Try looking in the taskbar of the Windows screen and selecting the volume control ( a speaker icon) check the mixer see if the volume is not muted or in the "0" position
2.Check the "input port on the sound card where you connected the new speaker assembly.
3. Check the volume control knob on the speaker assembly to see if it is not in the off or lowest volume position.
4. Check the new speaker by connecting them to another computer that has the sound already on and working this will let you know that the speaker assembly is good.
6. check the sound card drivers to the internal sound card that is on the mother board if this is where your sound card is located. Use the "manager" to see if it is working properly. If not then do a "reinstall of the sound card drivers or use the "update feature in the hardware window for the sound card to install the latest version of sound card drivers.
I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Can i hook up my bose model ps38 powered sub to onkyo reciever

Why not. A speaker system should work with anything that produced sound meant for a speaker.
Don't you think?
find the woofer out on the onkyo and connect the bose sub-woofer there.
Seems pretty simple. If you don't think so, go hide in a closet.

Why Onkyo HTS-9400THX: Front both and subwoofer not working.?

Try differnt speakers, if they do not produce sound, amp channels may be blown and then you need to take it to a shop.

Insignia ns ht51 subwoofer the speaker is vibrating but with no sound i believe it is the fuse, if so which fuse do i need

If the fuse had blown the sub woofer would be dead. I think you have a very low frequency oscillation problem . Now the frequency is so low ( below 15Hz ) one cannot hear it but if you look at the sub woofer speaker it will be pushing like a piston - to and fro very powerfully.
You will need professional help on this one.

I have a subwoofer can i hook up to computer speakers

Yes you can. cut the left speaker lead and splice a wire from it to your sub woofer. If its a powered woofer you may have too much gain going in, You don't say what kind of sub it is or weather or not its a "powered" unit. If its a powered woofer (built in amp) you should take the output directly from the computer output (buy a 1/8 in male to 2 1/8 in female connector, send one output to your original speakers and the left side of the second output to the sub woofer. you can usually adjust the level of the sub (if powered) with a control on the unit. if you need more help, contact me but please tell me more about what you have.

How do I hook up a non powered sub woofer on my htr-5630?

You will need an amplifier or 2 channel receiver. Hook the sub out rca jack to the rca inputs on this new amp or receiver and hook the speaker terminals on sub to speaker terminals on same amp or receiver. Your Yamaha receiver doesn't have any power for a passive sub.Just pick up any old fairly high powered receiver for fifty dollars and you're good to go.I use old dolby pro logic receivers as they are a dime a dozen today. Good luck.

Connection of a subwoofer to Yamaha ZX-V490

Get a powered sub-woofer that has speaker level inputs, then run your front speaker wires into the sub-woofers speaker level input and then run a set of speaker wires from the sub-woofers speaker wire output to your front speakers. This is a common way to use a sub-woofer with a receiver that doesn't have a sub-woofer output.

Most powered sub-woofers have these connections, just check it out first before you buy one. They look like speaker jacks on the back of the receiver.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

My computer sound system

Most likely the sub has the crossover in it, most likely the 2 input cables from whatever device you want to play through the system will plug into the sub then the 2 speaker cables will come out of the sub and go to the speakers, just be sure to have everything connected into and out of the sub and make sure the power cords for the speakers and sub are plugged in, I am assuming this is a self powered system wich means the amplifiers are built into the speakers and sub.
