If the digital temperature adjustment on your Kenmore refrigerator model 596.72003001 is not working, there are several possible causes and solutions to consider:
Check the power supply: Make sure that the refrigerator is properly plugged in and that the outlet is working. If the outlet is not functioning, try plugging the refrigerator into a different outlet.
Check the temperature sensor: The temperature sensor is responsible for communicating the current temperature to the digital display. If the sensor is malfunctioning or faulty, the display may not show the correct temperature or allow for adjustments. Check the sensor for any visible damage or signs of wear and tear, and replace it if necessary.
Check the control board: The control board is responsible for regulating the refrigerator's temperature and ensuring that the digital display is functioning correctly. If the control board is damaged or malfunctioning, it may need to be replaced.
Reset the refrigerator: Try resetting the refrigerator by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This can sometimes help to reset the digital display and restore proper functionality.
If none of these solutions work, it may be necessary to contact a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.
ISOLATE FROM MAINS SUPPLY BEFORE CARRYING OUT TESTS
Remove oven from unit, remove back visual inspection of wiring, this should take about 30 mins.
Several makes of ovens use heat temp control components, usually mounted on the frame or back of the oven, inspect, if there are signs of heat around the component replace. When oven is switched on is the fan blowing air when the door is open, if not very strong remove fan and clean with WD40, make sure this is dry before fitting again. If fan appears to be working correctly, a heat element could be faulty, inspact when the fan has been removed it should be mounted in front of the fan. If there is black spots, not food build up, it is more grey to black, replace the element, you should be able to get parts from white goods .co.uk. Without more info I am unable to help.
Hope this is helpful

This sounds as if you have lost half of the power to your Oven. It can be from a partially tripped main Circuit Breaker for the Oven or an internal wiring problem of a burned wire or terminal. It can also be the range control itself. but I doubt that since you said the burners also do not work (depending on model) If you have separate burner controls definatly NOT the range control.
If you pass your model number we can better help you. The fact that the lower element is only reaching 140 degrees is pretty much indicating that your oven is operating on 110V vs 220V. The causes again are input power, oven wiring or the range control.
Reset the Oven CB and check BOTH ends of the range cord (if you have one) for signs of hot terminals. For a direct connection look closely at the terminal board where the house wiring connected to the oven.
With a MODEL number I can look at manuals and diagrams to better assist you. Please pass that complete MODEL number in any future responses. Most any future response I provide after I get a MODEL number will involve using a meter and opening the oven to troubleshoot.
just reset it and it'll stop flashing the help sign. i am just wondering if you still kept your ovens specifications, if you did, would you be able to help me as to the dimesions of this oven. i have the same oven and it died yesterday. i want to buy a new one and wants the measurement so that the new one that i'm looking for woiuld fit exactly in the old one's spot. thanks,
