How does Windows XP Mode work?

Windows XP Mode works in two ways-both as a virtual operating system and as a way to open programs within Windows 7. It runs in a separate window on the Windows 7 desktop, much like a program, except it's a fully-functional, fully-licensed version of Windows XP. In Windows XP Mode, you can access your physical computer's CD/DVD drive, install programs, save files, and perform other tasks as if you were using a computer running Windows XP.

When you install a program in Windows XP Mode, the program appears in both the Windows XP Mode list of programs and in the Windows 7 list of programs, so you can open the program directly from Windows 7.

I did not have driver cd..how to install without it

You should have PC with windows XP and windows media player 9 or later.
In this case you don't need any driver.
1. Use the USB connector cable provided with your player to connect the USB port on your player to an open USB port on your computer. The player will appear as a removable drive in Windows File Explorer.
2. Drag and drop music files to the player from any location on your hard-drive or use a variety of music software to move music to your Sansa. For more information on how to use specific software, please refer to the help files provided with each program.

NOTE: Because your Sansa Player automatically organizes your music by artist, album, song title, genre, and year, you only need to copy your music to the player. Your Sansa will automatically create a music library which you can later sort with easy-to-use menus.

Good luck!
Thanks.

I have Windows 7 operating system. When I install the digital recorder program from the CD, the program installs, but when I connect the USB cable to my recorder it doesn't show any recording that I...

You can right click on the desktop icon for the digital recorder software and in the window that opens click on the "Compatibility"tab. Then check the box "run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose Windows XP (service pack 3). Reboot and then try the program again. If still not working, try the other choices see picture below. Let me know which one worked. Thanks for using FixYa

How to make compatible with windows 7

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:)) julyallan01_50.jpg

My igolf neo won't work with Windows 7 if i try

I fixed this problem by going to Start>Control Panel and uninstalling the Java 64-bit program. It is incompatible with the Neo sync application. The other Java program on there is compatible. It worked immediately without even restarting. (I tried the above Best Solution, but on the newer computers, I get a message saying the Vista driver is only for Vista, not for Windows 7).
