wma files won't be read, only mp3 files, in my experience. My 512 mb SD card works, but it won't read my 8 gb SDHC card. I suspect it can't manage SDHC (high capacity) cards. I haven't tested yet, because as it turns out, neither can my computer... I think I'll fall back to a flash drive.
personally, i usually just drag and drop from my music folders on PC directly to music folder on mp3 player. but you can try this website to download manuals
try formatting the device and reset it to original factory settings.(procedure given in instruction manual) and then using the firmware manager that came as installation cd with the device, upgrade the software .. hope your problem is tackled. thanks for using fixya!. please dont forget to rate my solution.
If your device is too full, it wont have enough room to create the music database for the new songs.
Move some of your music off of the device onto the memory card.
Try to keep about 10MB free for each GB of music you have.

Have you tried emptying the recycle bin? Or Defragged the hard Drive?
