Downloading the new Event Service Update from Sony and 'unchecking' the automatic output function in Vaio Central control panel hasn't worked. Anyone have any ideas. I'm using a SVGA connecting cable. Very frustrating. The product listing didn't show the vgn-fe570g, but that's the model I have.
There is an issue with the vga port on 2006 - 2007 sony vaio laptops. It doesn't push enough power to samsung lcds. There are all sorts of complicated solutions suggested by all sorts of people. Don't waste your time. Get yourself a connection cable with gold contacts and you'll be straight. It costs approx. $33.99. I got this one and it works fine (and I have a weak-*** TZ):

The subject line ended too soon... I'm trying to connect to a Samsung LN32A450C1D LCD TV
I have the same problem from Sony Vaio VGN-S38SP not being able to connect to Samsung LCD monitor.
model vgnfz240n son vaio
Same, VGN-N365E. Sony Live support isn't much help. I'd also rather not spend $33 for Sony's fault.
Same problem Sony Vaio to Samsung LCD TV with VGA Cable - Samsung cannot see the signal which is recognized by other monitors.
Same problem with VGN-CR21s, it will appear on lcd for around 5 seconds then the error message "check signal cable" appears. It will work with other laptops for some reason though
