I can't remember my password when I run the setup disc for my router. It's a lynksys WRT54G

Almost every consumer router has a 'reset' button that is inside a small hole on the back of the router. It is labelled 'reset' and typically needs to be held in with something like a paper clip gently inserted and held for about ten seconds with the power on. Sometimes there are variations on this theme that are in the manual.

Almost every consumer router is supported on he manufacturers web site. Most of them have online manuals that can be viewed on the site or downloaded and read on your computer in a PDF.

You go to the manufacturers web site and enter the model number into a search box. Poke around until you find the manual and browse to the factory rest section.

Are you trying to connect the Xbox to the wireless network?
If yes then you will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
is there any computer on line using the router ?
on that computer you can open the setup page of the router. check the wireless ettings and the security settings then try to connect to the wireless network on the Xbox.
See if that works.

HI, I am unable to connect wirelessly using the Kinksy router.

Router setup
You do not have to use the cd. Go to the control panel and un-install the program that the cd installed. then:

Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider. If you have DSL, the router needs to be configured with PPOe.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Kinksys wireless router

You mean wireless security password?

To enable that, do the following steps.

1. Open Internet Explorer and type http://192.1680.1.1 on the address bar
2. It will prompt you for username and password. By default, no username and password is admin. If the default password didn't work, try to type your own password for the router.
3. When you get to the setup page, click on WIRELESS tab on the top. Then click the sub-tab WIRELESS SECURITY under that.
4. Choose WPA-Personal for the Security Mode
5. Type now your desired password on the Shared Key or Passphrase box. Password should have minimum of 8 characters. You should remember that password or write it down.
6. Click on Save Settings at the bottom of the page.

You're all set with new password.
