The dishwasher is not washing. There is grainy residue on everything...even the wine glasses which had no food residue when they were put in the dishwasher, but are filthy at the end of the cycle. There is a bit of soap powder left in the soap powder container. I use Cascade powder detergent and Jet Dry . Thanks for your help.

Either it is not filling up enough or the wash pump is not working.

This is a 3 yr old dishwasher with very gentle use. It now is not cleaning glasses....even when rinsed before hand the glasses are still stained and spotted. Also my silverware needs to be completely...

Hard water stains are easily taken care of with the help of vinegar. Add 1/4 vinegar to the cycle when you start it and it will help to remove spots and cloudiness.
As for food residue you might check your filters and water pressure.

The dishes/glasses on the top shelf are not getting clean

Here is a link to a procedure I put together to clean out your pump. A plugged up sump is the most common reason for poor washing on the upper rack.

Let me know if this helps.

A grainy grit remains on all my dishes. It's in the bottom of the dishwasher when the cycle is over. what is it and how can i fix it

I took everything apart in the bottom of the dishwasher, washed them and put them back together and now have clean dishes. I needed a star head to remove the screws, which I had. A Phillips screwdriver won't work. Food and gunk were clogging the drains and screens, even the spray wands. For the very bottom I used a shop vac to get all the dirty water out and then cleaned the small drain.

Left over soap residue in glasses

you need to flush out the dishwasher, fill a cup with vinager and put it in the dishwasher standing up, then run the dishwasher thru a heavy duty cycle with no dishs. Then cut back on your soap, with new dishwashers and soaps you dont need much at all

Hi shanandpop

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question is: Your Bosch dishwasher is 6 months old and is starting to leave food on items in the top drawer. It also sometimes leaves a grainy residual in the cups and glasses. You have put through a dishwasher cleaning solution, but find it isn't doing anything to resolve the problem?

You're still under warranty. The best advice is to use it. If it is not fixed the first time out, demand a new one from where you bought it. Sometimes they drag this out till the warranty runs out, then where will we be.
