MKII This solved the "Now OPC" problem 1. Unplug unit 2. Remove the top cover, (3 screws on each
side and 3 on the back, lift cover). 3. Plug in unit. 4. Power on the unit to observe the drive

Okay, so with respect to Stubbornguy's solution...it might work but it might damage the device. According to the manual it specifically states "Caution: DO NOT REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE HOUSING USING A SCREWDRIVER" Probably because of the digital devices inside that would get ruined with the magnetism that is on the screwdriver. It also states to keep this device away from magnetic fields.
However, as to the problem it may have to do with the disc as Stubbornguy states. The manual states NOT to use "Stabilizer CD's" or "Printable recordable CD's". The latter is what I was about to use. Evidently the adhesive on the printable label causes the CD to stick in the unit and cause the unit to malfunction. According to the manual it will take a technician (more likely tech's tools) to open the unit and remove the CD, without further damaging the device. I hope this helps.
