Camera lens might be broken

I dropped my camera at an event. The screen is fine, but when I take pictures all I see is fuzzy, white lines, and actual picture has a pink hue. If my camera lens is broken, how can I get it fixed?

Fuzzy Pictures w/ Nikon D3000

If this is a new camera, it should still be under warranty. I suggest you contact Nikon before doing anything else to determine if the repair would be covered under warranty. Nikon also would be in a position to advise you as to what the problem might be so that in the event that the repair is not covered under warranty, you don't replace the wrong thing.

Pictures fuzzy when you look through the viewer.

The viewfinder and the picture lens are totally separate. If it looks fuzzy, and then comes out fuzzy, the capture screen inside needs cleaned. The main lens and viewfinder lenses should be cleaned too.
Get estimates before you say yes to the work. It might be cheaper to buy another camera, unless you can do the work yourself.

White and fuzzy screen

Hey mea411,
What you should do is have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. There is most likely something wrong with the LCD screen itself. I hope this helps!

Fuji Finepix camera fault

Dropped, that's rough. As far as the lens goes, it could be damaged or jammed. The LCD however sounds broken, once the seal is lost the display needs replaced.
In any event, these are not battery related issues.

Kodak easyshare DX 7630 screen black in take a picture mode but is fine in review etc

Hey Wistra,
You could try resetting your camera to the factory settings by choosing the reset to default setting in the menu. If this doesn't work the sensor on the camera is most likely broken, and you should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. If the camera was purchased less than a year ago the repair would most likely be covered under manufacturers’ warranty. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

White Screen

  1. Upon startup lens emerges but when screen appears it is white whereas it normally displays whatever the lens sees. When the shutter button is pressed the camera will focus and take a white picture which can be deleted. The camera does not flash although flash is set to automatic and photo taken in a dark room. Camera flashes (weakly) with flash set to manual on. Lens is unobstructed and appears to be perfectly normal. Camera was not dropped. Batteries have been changed.

Lines on screen

Hi, I have the same problem with my sony DSC-S700. I think someone drop it, and it took pictures with horizontal line specially outdoor. I noticed that the lens shutter does'nt open and close. All I did was to tap on the lens several times and everythings back to normal. I so happy my camera is working again. Thanks to your idea. Brenton
