Will not hold water during initial cycle

When I turn the dial to the initial fill cycle lets say normal wash the water runs in and never actual fills the basin. It just runs the water through and out the drain. In addition it will not extract the water during the initial rinse cycle it will only extract the water during the spin cycle. Any help would be great. Thanks Stacy

The drain hose needs to be lifted above the high fill level in washer. The easiest way to fix this is take the drain hose (if your drain hose starts from the bottom of machine and goes up)tie or strap it to the back of the washer so it cant sag or drop down and start syphoning the water.Remember the washer will drain out the water if the drain hose is lower than the amount of water in the tub.Thats why your making sure by tieing the drain hose to the highest point before it makes it way to the drain .

Wahing machine will not wash

the entire agitator is not moving during the wash??? or just the top section that looks like a big plastic corkscrew???
or is the unit actually just filling with water, making the motor running noises and going thru the motions of running a cycle yet not actually moving anything within the unit, then draining out as normal??
if just the top section of the agitator is free spinning instead of ratcheting as normal you'll need to replace the agitator dogs if present.
if however the units just filling and draining of water with no inner movement then more likely the drive coupling is bad and needs replacement..
hope this helps,
best of luck,

Will fill but not wash or spin

Does the motor run?  Does the water get pumped out at the end of wash cycle or during the rinse cycle or when you turn the dial by hand to the end of a cycle?  If the water gets pumped out then the motor is OK but the clutch is not working.  If the motor is not running then that is the problem.  If the water fills and then nothing happens (the dial does not turn by itself) the timer is bad.  If the timer is bad but you turn it by hand the other actions (wash, rinse, etc. should work indicating no problems with motor and clutch).

Kenmore top load washer will not fill on rinse cycle

Hi, It does sound like the contacts in the water level switch are sticking. This switch is activated by presure not vaccum. You can try and bow into the hose leading to the level switch and see if it has any restriction but, it is more likely the level switch is going bad.
Do you have any problem on the initial starting of you wash cycle?
Let me know if this helps at all or I can answer any more questions.

Thanks

Washer fills slow only in the rinse cycle

I had the same problem with my Kenmore Model 11022956102 washer and first thought that it was the water inlet valves. So I replaced them, but found the problem continued. After about 25 seconds into the rinse cycle the water only trickled in. Checking with a voltage meter I found that I lost 120V at terminals 3 & 5 on the washer temperature controller after 25 seconds. Even though the wiring diagram doesn't show the water temperature control board, since it's full of resisters and capacitors, I figured it was the most likely problem. So I ordered a remanufactured board from Parts Simple (#3407125), received and installed it. The 17 year old washer is now working fine once again. I hope this helps someone with the same problem. /s/ Paul
