I have recently upgraded my operating system on my computer from XP to windows 7. since then my ATI X1650 PRO graphics card has been stopped by windows with the following message: "Windows has stopped...

go to device manager and click on display adapter then right click on ATI X1650 then run an update. It might be because the driver on your computer is not update with the driver that is not compatible with windows 7. Hope this would help. Thanks.

go to ATI and get the correct driver
dont expect W7 to magcially get any video driver right.
that is your job as custom builder.
(it can only be 2 things, it seems.

I have a Dell Vostro 400 and two video cards. Only one card will work and it is an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200.The other one is an ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO. These are the specs from the two graphics cards:...

you cant join two different platform vga cards. simply because they have their own platform and have separate drivers, so they conflict each other thus causing one of them shut off or disable..

Display problem - Dell D600

Try re-installing the ATI Redeon graphics driver (video driver). If problem persist, I suspected its your video card is having a problem. I believe it is built in on your machine. So you need to replace a system board.

If machine is under warranty, no need to pay for the repairs.

Want to use a TV monitor with an ATI Radeon X300SE card

Thats because your TV output is set to display as an extension of the desktop and not as a clone of it.

This can be fixed...

Do you have installed the ATI CATALYST CONTROL CENTER? Thats ATI utility that controls the card, it usually places a red ATI icon besides the clock in windows. Double clicking the icon you enter the catalyst control center, use it in advanced mode and go to the DISPLAYS MANAGER menu from the column on the left you can configure what you want to do with your displays with numerous option that adapt to any arrangement.

As always keep your drivers up to date... If your card isn't a true ATI, just a radeon built by someone else, then you might need to download the drivers from that manufacturer and use their utility. Or maybe you can force install the original ATI drivers for your card model.

you should be running the same make video card, because the same driver runs both of them.

Have the graphic card mother board

Is this an Addon card, or a built-in video chip?

Best thing I can suggest with very little information would be to remove the 'card' from System Properties (Right Click "My computer", select "Properties", click "Hardware" tab, Click "Device Manager", double-click 'Display Adapters', right click your video card, and select uninstall), then reboot your computer to let Windows reinstall all drivers for the card. This may fix the problem, it may not. NTLDR is the startup to Windows 2k and above.
