I have a V70- 2000- about 2 years ago my AC lights flashed and the AC would not work, had the motor replaced. Now my AC blows cold air, never very strong but in the afternoon, when the temp outside is hotter, the AC does not work as long. It continues to blow air but it seems to blow outside air. When I turn the AC off for a short time it then again blows cold air. I have had it to the shop and had 1/2-3/4 lb freon added. Can you help because it is still very hot where I live.

Sounds like you have a leak concern if they are adding freon

however, it also sounds like a restriction in the system and/or a defective TXV

do you have pressure gauges... this is the only way to diagnose an a/c system without just throwing parts at the concern

Heater blows cold air

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

2004 Chrysler Pacifica a/c doesn't blow any air in front vents, only defrost works

I have the same problem starting on mine. The first answer above is totally wrong. The actuators that control the doors are 12 volt electric no vacuum. There are three actuators on the drivers side under the panel by the gas pedal. I haven't worked on mine so I can't tell you which one it is but all are the same part and interchangeable take a new one and try it in each position until it works. There is one in the center console and one under the passenger side by the blower motor the console is for rear HVAC and the passenger one is for recirculation after installation it will have to be calibrated . Turn ignition to ON not start push the power button and the recirculation button at the same time hold for 5 seconds lights should start flashing leave it for two minutes or the lights stop flashing. If they don't stop recalibrate until they do. If they won't stop drive for eight miles and it will stop on it own. (but not fixed)

2005 Avalance that has intermittent AC problem. When you turn on AC, the drivers side will start blowing HOT air, while the passenger side blows cold. Two years ago, a mechanic replaced a part and it...

If you dual climate control sounds like it the mode door actuator that controls driver and passenger temp. If it went bad again then there is something wrong with the mode door itself causing the actuator to short out
