No water in dishwasher

Have maytag dishwasher model PDBL390AWB that doesn't get water while running. Would that be the water valve or turbidity sensor. Also noticed on the parts list a screen by the water valve.

There should be power coming from the timer to the float switch to the water valve when the dishwasher needs water. Do you have a voltage meter? Perhaps the float switch is bad even if the lever moves up and down does not mean the switch is allowing current to pass through it. Check to make sure that there is 110 volts at the water valve during the fill cycle and update me on what you find out when checking this. good luck

HI,

If there's no water entering your dishwasher, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Float switch

Water-inlet valve
The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.

Float switch
The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

Goodluck..

Dishwasher takes a very very long time to wash

It could be that it takes a long time for hot water to reach the dishwasher so it fills with cold water. the control may wait for the water to warm up before advancing. Try running the water at the sink until warm before turning on the dishwasher. This may fix the problem. Some models have a water turbidity sensor and will wash until the water is clear. Excessively dirty dishes will cause extended run cycles.

Maytag performa dishwasher, model # PDBL390AWB.

Sounds like to me you have a water restriction somewhere. Double check and make sure that the main water valve coming into your home is fully open. Make sure the water shut off valve(s) going to the dishwasher both have adequate water flow and that means testing them before being connected to dish washer. If that checks out okay, possibly the plunger that opens and closes in the electric water solenoid is sticking and not opening up al the way since the unit has been in storage for all that time. Sometimes tapping on it when it is in operation can free up that sticking plunger and you may get full water flow restored again. If not, solenoid may have to be replaced. Hope this helps out.

Maytag MDB6000AWA doesn't fill with water

I had the same problem. Check and clean the sediment screen in the "water inlet valve". If this isn't plugged it is probably the solenoid on the same valve. I replaced the water inlet valve, took apart the inside apparatus of the dishwasher and gave it a good cleaning and this fixed the problem. The valve cost me $60.00CDN delivered to my door. You can order it online for as little as $30-$40.

I have a maytag dishwasher model mdbtt60awb 07 year. Want to wash a load of dishes it keeps poping over to rinse only

In the bottom of the unit on the LH side (9 o'clock) of the pump / motor there is the turbidity sensor. This sensor is supposed to sense the soil level in the water and determine how many times the dishwasher rinses until there is no more debris in the water. If this OPTICAL (infared) sensor gets covered with food particulate or fails you can have the symptom your describing. Remove the sensor and clean off the eye bu flushing the unit as best you can. Reinstall it and then try it again.

The part number of the sensor is: 99003613 but has been replaced by PN W10120019

Here is yet another PN for the same sensor:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/whirlpool-sensor--turbidity-item-number-ap4114286.aspx

As long as this sensor is telling the control panel the water is dirty it will always rinse.

For an installed position of the sensor see item 11 this link:
http://www.partadvantage.com/lookup/90872/553699

You may have to shop areound for this sensor as it is not a commonly stocked item and has a 7 - 14 day delivery time.

Maytag performa dishwasher PDBL390AWB - dirty dishes

The problem is hard water. Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com and get their new product. It filters the water and takes out the hard minerals that cause spots and clog dishwashers. It is very affordable and has a money back guarantee.

Dishwasher will not fill up with water

check the following- remove the wires from the fill valve.close the door and start the unit.u should read 120 v as u start the unit.if u read 120v then fill valve is bad.if not then chk and make sure the float is sitting completely down and float sw is closed.the power to fill valve goes throug this sw.if all is ok and still there is no power then u may not be getting power from cntrl board and control board could be bad.but that rarely happens.turbidity sensor does not affect the fill operation.good luck.
