Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Scanner I have the Kodak EasyShare 5300 allin one printer/scanner. Today I am attempting to scan a document to email and suddenly the scanner doesn't seem to be working at all. When I press scan and then start....nothing happens. Usually the scanner makes a sound when it is functioning, but today....nothing. I have used it many times before, so know that it did work fine at one point. I have checked the power supply and cable connections and they are fine. I have had this machine for only a couple of months.

The autofeeder jams at about the every 3rd page and freezes up everything until I turn it off.  At the end of my stack, I found that nothing had been scanned. Tried it with pages facing both up and down.  Tried to save to the desktop just to be sure I wasn't losing the file in the process.  I've tried it through the software as well as manually. Nothing. Haven't tried the flatbed, but both used to work.  I've only had it a few months.

    Any thoughts?

Try scanning from the Kodak AiO Home Center software. If that fails, you should get better feedback. Unfortunately, I have run into this when my ink is low. While it should not matter, is does. Check to see if you need to replace a cartridge.
Good Luck.

How do you scan digit prints from my 5300 scanner/printer to put on email????????????

Hi. There are lot of way on how to transfer your documents from old compter to nerw computer. First, you may use extarnal harddrive and copy all the documents from old PC to external HD and copy it to new PC. Second, If computers are in a network you may access the old computer from the network using the new computer and copy the files. Third, you may burn all the files from the old computer and then copy it from the new computer. Fourth, you may also do direct cable (LAN) connection to copy files from your old computer.

How do i scan a document on the Kodak 5300 AOI using Microsoft Word XP. Where do I locate the menu drop down to retrieve the scannned document from the scanner?

I think you need to install the microsoft office document imaging to be able to scan from word, this is what you do assuming that you have windows xp

Windows XP
  1. Exit all programs. Tip You may want to print this topic before you exit all programs.
  2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  3. In Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs , and then click Remove a program.
  4. In the Currently installed programs list, click the name of the Microsoft Office edition that you installed or click Microsoft Office Word 2002 (depending on whether you installed Word as part of Office or as an individual program), and then click Change. The Configuration Wizard opens.
  5. Click Add or Remove Features, and then click Continue.
  6. Under Installation Options, click the plus sign (+) next to Office Tools.
  7. Click the arrow next to Microsoft Office Document Imaging, click Run all from my Computer, and then click Continue.
once you have installed this in the insert menu, there should be an option to acquire image from your scanner, assuming that your scanner is properly installed and working.

alternatively you should be able to scan a document and send it to an application (word xp), page 70 of your printer manual will show you how, your manual canbe found here

hope this helps!

I think the scanner has crud or dust on the reader. You likely want a "pro" to clean it.

That is a scanner hardware problem. Try exchanging it with another AiO 5300.
