No power to RSES

Can not find wiring diagram of rear entertainment sytem nor fuse or relay location. It's not in my Chilton repair manual nor does owners manual metion it.

  • Tennima May 24, 2008

I fixed the problem myself. Without any help from anyone.Chilton and Haynes have the same diagram for the Rear Entertainment System. As I stated I am a ASE certified Master Tech. The reason That I spent the money for help was to save time. For everyones information there is a separate fuse for the system..

  • Tennima May 27, 2008

    Hi bestdarngood,

Tennima speaking here.I will go ahead and tell you where the RSES fuse is located. I founnd it by taking the top of the console off. Only two screws-One located in the front of console lid and the other under the removable rubber square storage tray at the front of console top cover. There you can see the wiring harness going to the Video cassette player. The power wire feeds the stereo system as well.It is black with a pink stripe. You will see two black and pink wires running by themselves to a single small white fuse holder in the very font of the console. It is a wide spade seven and a half amp fuse.Total replacement time with the correct information is about twenty minutes. You may get a kick out of calling the Ford dealer guy back and tell him where the fuse is.I worked for Ford,Lincoln Mercury dealer for over four years. They are just like the rest of us at times mistaken and too quick to answer. I hope this information will help someone.

The fuses should be in with the main fuse box and the wires should run from the stereo to the speakers. Please let me know if you have any questions with this. What exactly is wrong with your entertainment system?

Can I suggest buying a Haynes Manual which is similar to a chilton manual from a local fleet farm, NAPA, AutoZone, or Checker Auto store. These manuals will have complete diagrams of everything for your vehicle and for people that like to do everything themselves, they are a great resource to have and will save you from dollars of mechanic work.

Please update me about this and I would be glad to answer any other questions that you may have. There should also be a fuse relay under the hood.

Where is the fuse located exactly because I called my local ford dealership and he said the only fuses were in the fuse box for the entertainment system. Of course it wasn't my friend who would have known since I'm not as familiar with this model but I figured any other guy there would've known just as well. Sorry about not being more help

2000 z3 location for fuse 107 50 amp

Joseph, check the fuse distribution panel in the engine compartment; your car's owner's manual should have the diagram & labeling to that panel and the fuse panel in the cabin compartment; sometimes diagrams are on the covers too.
If that's a problem, purchase or download service repair manual specific to your vehicle.

No blower on any setting. a/c light does not come on when depressed or engage the ac, replaced blower, same issue, replaced resistor same issue

Did you check for voltage at applicable fuses? Even if fuse is good if no voltage at fuse circuit, the circuit is still dead. Use a test lite to check for voltage.
There a blower motor relay, hopefully your fuse box cover will tell you which relay is which? If not, your owners manual may have this info? I'm not saying the relay is faulty, have check relay circuits for voltage and ground.

What is the cable connected to the ignition that controls the dash board's gadgets

You mean by gadgets, warning lights and gauges? That would be from the ignition switch's run wire, the wire from the on position. This wire sends voltage to the ignition system, and to the dash for the warning lights and gauges-but not directly to the dash-the signal would reach the dash after being routed through the fuse panel to a fuse for the dash gauges and warning lamps. You need to check if that fuse is good.
Recall seeing any wiring diagram? The fuses are labeled either "hot at all times" or "hot in run or start". The fuses labeled hot in run or start are only sent power when the key is on, so power for those fuses are routed through, or turned on by the key being on. Depending on the car and its wiring set up, many will have relays that are turned on by the run wire, and power is then sent from the relay to that circuit's fuse in the fuse panel. This relay may be called the ignition relay. Or your car may have a different relay to send power from the run wire to the fuse panel.
The only way to figure yours out is to see a wiring diagram for it. Then you will see how power is sent from the ignition switch to the dash.
Wiring diagrams are almost always found in repair manuals. Check if your library has a manual for your car. Most libraries have quite a few repair manuals. Or parts stores sell repair manuals too, for about $25. Try to find a Haynes repair manual for your car. The other popular repair manual is from Chilton. My preference is Haynes, just my preference. I been burned by Chilton manuals sooo many times-incomplete wiring diagrams, incorrect information, incomplete information. Haynes are not perfect by any means, you want perfection-spend big bucks for a factory service manual ! In general, Haynes is more complete than Chilton.
OK, enough venting. If you have a test light, check for power at the fuse for the dash (may be labeled "gauges" or "instr pnl", something like that) with the key on. If it has power with key on, wire from the fuse goes to the dash. If that fuse has no power to it with key on, power has been lost between the ignition switch and that fuse-now you definitely need a wiring diagram to find the problem.

I have power rear vents on my 98 Villager that does not operate. I cannot locate it on the fuse box to replace so i checked each fuse and none were blown. Where is it?

go to our site for help.

your owner manual has fuse diagrams.

the qtr windows go through the power window relay. If other windows work, not likely the relay or timer module.

you need 12 volts at this wire on the overhead console switches.

  • Measure the voltage between the power rear quarter glass window regulator control switch C903 , "O/BK" and ground.

  • If no 12 v, SERVICE the "O/BK" wire between the power window relay and the power rear quarter glass window regulator control switch.
The ower window relay is above and behind the fuse panel on the dash. 2 relays and turn signal flasher in same area. Turn signal light on to locate flasher. 2 bolts hold bracket with relays & flasher.

Head lights do not come on. Parking lights work fine. checked fuse in enging compartment

THE HEADLIGHTS DO WORK ON A DIFFERENT WIRE AT THE SWITCH, ALSO THERE IS A RELAY FOR THE HEADLIGHTS USUALLY LOCATED IN THE MAIN FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD. CHECK THE RELAY FIRST, THEN YOU MAY WANT TO GET A WIRING DIAGRAM OR CHILTON MANUAL TO CHECK THE WIRES COMING OUT OF THE SWITCH.

01 corolla was jumped in reverse, would not start, then, i replaced under the hood fuse box, and it does start now, but no power windows, heat, power locks, radio will work, could this be one relay?

It could be several fuses, one relay or a combination of the two. I am curious as to why you replaced the fuse box after jump starting the car though. See if you can googe a wiring diagram or use a chilton or haynes manual, they have wiring diagrams in them. Then you can look up the specific cause of your heat not working and you'll be able to see if it is a fuse, or a relay controlling many items. Good luck!!

    Rear Seat Entertainment System

There is a 4 amp fuse located under the center console. You need to remove the screw under the change compartment and the one under the handle of the lid. Then pull it off. Its towards the front. I replaced mine with a 5 amp fuse.
