Question about Panasonic KX-TA824PK Phone

1 Answer

Hello friends from FIXYA, I have a situation where I cannot get my Panasonic KX-TA824 pbx to answer incoming call at the fist ring using DISA. I have tried everything and I cannot get it to work. DISA always answers after the 2nd ring and then it plays the menu and everything that follows. Thanks in advance for your help. Panasonic KX-TA824 firmware (ver.3.0.3I(Y911AGO70731)M DISA integrated.

    Dear Carl,

Thank you for your answer, the main concern was that increases the wait time for my clients, and some get fustrated with recorded welcome messages.
I did some testing and disable CID and you are right, DISA now kicks at the first ring.
I really appreciate your help, I now know what I have to loose.

    Thank you very much.

And??? What's the problem? My DISA is set for 1s on the first page and it never rings a phone. If you want it to answer the outside line on the first ring, you'll have to turn OFF Caller-ID. Now it will answer right after the first ring, but you lose CID logging.

On my working system, the DISA 6.1 section is with AA and 1 second, and 6.2 the first two timers are 3 and 5 seconds. In 9.1 you can uncheck CID but I don't recommend it.

If I understood users manual which I found via internet,it is digital system for PBX,so it means you can use it 100% if it is programed thru PBX system,so you need to call your IT personel to program it
for you.

I have 10 Panasonic KX-T7730 using 8 phone lines. I've confirmed with AT&T that all 8 lines are setup for caller ID. I've confirmed that all 8 extensions have the Caller ID enabled. Two of the

Firstly, you have not indicated which phone system your phones are connected to, e.g. KX-TA824, KX-TDA50 or other, so I'm a little in the dark. That being said, most of the Panasonic Systems only display Caller ID information (CID) to phones that are programmed to "Ring" on the line with the incoming call, and the line button flashes green to show it's ringing... so you must "system program" ringing for the line(s) on each phone. If the CID is not displayed on a particular phone, then that line is likely not programed to ring on that phone (it's light may flash red instead of green). After you "system program" the line to ring, you can still shut off the ringing sound on a phone using the slide switch on the left edge of the phone if you don't want to hear ringing, and this will not interfere with the CID display. Also, on a second note, CID does not display on the first ring coming in from the phone company (TELCO). The CID signal is sent from the TELCO to your system after the first ring has ended, during what would be the silence period that would occur before the second ring, if there was no CID. It is for that reason that most knowledgeable installers program lines with a five second delayed ring; in this way, you don't know the call has arrived until after enough time has passed for your system to receive the CID signal... this is why it seems the CID appears instantly, with an incoming call. Check out the line programming for each line and set it to ring with a 5 second delay. If you don't set up a delay, your phones will ring and if you answer the call immediately, its likely it won't allow the system to receive CID, so no CID will be displayed for that call.

Our company uses the PANASONIC KX-T7730 phone system, just wanting to know if customers can call directly to our extension numbers?

if your pbx has a built in disa feature, then you need to program
the DIL (sys. pgm. # 418) to DISA-OGM 1. Then you need to
record an OGM (program 9,1,1) to tell you customers that
they can dial the ext.# directly.

3. You find the drivers for the MC for your operating system. Our Pana dealer website has them, so I'd contact Panasonic for a solution.

2. The system needs programming. System programs 407-409 controls incoming ringing.

1. Did you install a 82493 CID card and programming?

I have a 824 ans just got a DISA card I need to program the DISA card Please advice if you can answer the following Question 1) How/what is the program code to record greeting message(msg 1 to 3) 2)...

My 824 has a DISA card already in it. What did the manual say? It has comprehensive instrucitons on how to use DISA and how to record the OGM. Try PROGRAM 911 from extension 101.

As far as the secondary greetings, I guess they would be in 912 and 913.

Activation and deactivation is part of ring assignment to trunks.

How do I get the caller ID information from the Panasonic KX-TA824 through the serial port connection, in real time? I connected a serial cable from the unit to my computer, and it shows the call log,...

The correct answer is, "you don't". The TD and greater series (including the TAW) has a "AN" and "RA" feature that pre-displays CID as the call is ringing, the TA and lower does not.

Kxta824 disa help

Your system has 3 modes of operation, day, night, and lunch. Lunch doesn't have to be a specific time, and you could manually switch between the 3 modes. Most small customers don't even use NIGHT mode, except to control the voice mail system.

Full programming instructions are beyond the scope of the free forum, but in section 3.1 of the programming tool, you set the mode of the trunks for day/night/lunch. No matter what the status of the auto switching to day/night mode, you can still manually switch to lunch by dialing 782 from any phone, and manually switch back to day/night mode (780/781) to turn DISA mode on or off.

Now, you still can have different OGM's for day and night that will automatically work, and manually use the lunch to control the applicaion of DISA. Even if the receptionist steps away from the desk, you can go into 3.2 and turn on some delayed ringing, or anyone can put the system back in day or night mode.
