About 7 or 8 minutes after setting my dishwasher to run a "Normal" cycle, I noticed that it didn't sound right. The Sensing light and the Add a Dish light were both on. I hit cancel and opened the door to find the inside totally dry and just barely warm. It had a slight smell - probably from the motor trying to run unsucessfully. Is there something I can do to remedy this issue without calling a repairman?

Check inlet water flow to your machine. Try pouring water manually
in the wash chamber. If machine works OK, it is inlet water problem.

Remove the hose and watch for free flow.Clean the strainer attached
to the machine. Beyond this point you can contact repairman!

How do I clean dishwasher its starting to leave whiet spots on dishes

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you want to know how to clean your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# PLD2560LCC, as it is starting to leave white spots on your dishes. Please follow these simple instructions:

1. Load your clean dishes and glasses in a normal manner. Do not load any metal utensils or silverware.
2. Do not add detergent.
3. Select the NORMAL WASH cycle. Close and latch door. Press START/CANCEL pad.
4. Allow your dishwasher to run until it starts the second water fill (approximately 10 minutes). The SENSING light will be off.
5. Unlatch and open the door and pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the bottom of your dishwasher.
6. Close and latch the door and allow cycle to finish.

Note: If these conditions persist, a home water softener should be considered.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Bosch dishwasher model SHX46A why does the on/off switch and lights stay on while the dw stopped running?

The dw was not quite running. It does pause between cycles. The power scrub cycle means that you had the machine on the longest of all cycle choices. There's almost always a light and a normal cycle. The pots and pans cycle is a power scrub option. Yes all the lights would be on until they switched to a different part of the cycle. Do you have a DRYING light? That would be the one to look for as far as the dw being finished. :)

Dishwasher starts to buzz when running. This occurs around the 65 minute and the 49 minute and 47 minute mark. this lasts for a few minutes or so. It sounds like a motor is jammed. The sound then goes...

Have you noticed a malfunction as a result of the buzzing? If not, let it do its thing until something fails! You could be hearing a solenoid. Otherwise, contact an appliance service company.

KitchenAid KUDP01DLBS2 dishwasher. Runs for a very long time on any cycle; time does not seem to advance. (takes 2.5 hours or more for normal cycle. "sensing soak", "water heating" lights on for a long...

Sounds like the heater inside the dishwasher is not working. The machine is trying to get the water up to a preset temperature, probably in the neighborhood of 140 degrees. That is one of the things that it is sensing.

After the machine fills, open it up and take a water temperature reading. After it runs for 10 minutes or so with the water heating light on, but before it drains, open it up again and take another temp reading. If the second temperature is at or below the first temp, the heater is not working. Could be a burned out element, faulty wiring, or bad controller.

Check inside the machine (remove the panel below the door) for a wiring diagram. If there is one there it will give the resistance value for the heater element as well as the wire colors, the circuit diagram, and the cycle times.

Extremely long cycle

The drying coil that is broken also heats the water during the wash and rinsing phase. Right now it is waiting for the water to heat up, that's why it's pausing. Replace broken heater, they are relatively cheap and can be gotten at repair clinic.com.

Whirlpool gold dishwasher gets stuck at 53 minutes left for an hour

Try "resetting" the control board by running the diagnostic cycle. The cycle completes in 15 minutes.
The details are in the service manual. The manual can be found hidden behind the tow plate (at the very bottom front of the washer).
The diagnostic cycle may tell you the problem. It also helps clear up some of the software gltiches.
It is easy to run the diagnostic cycle.
Just the buttons in the following sequence. The sequence should be complete within 6 sec.
heated dry -> Normal -> heated dry -> Normal
This will trigger diagnostic cycle of 19 intervals. Pay special attention to the intervals 18, 17, 9, 6, 4.
Interval 18 - displays your controller module number (should be letter 'd' followed by number 0 or 1 or 2 or something. Note that down for future reference.
Interval 17 displays 'software generation number' Note that down for future reference.
Then wait until you reach interval 9.  --- clean LED turns on - then an open or shorted thermister is detected.
-- Sanitized LED turns on - then the washer detected greater than 100 deg F temperature
Interval 7
-- Soaking/sensing LED should NOT come on (unless food soil is present).
Interval 4 -- Soaking/sensing LED should come on

Let the cycle complete and then try running the normal wash. Hopefully the possible glitches are cleared by now and you should have no problem.
If this doesn't work, time to call the expert tech.

Dishwasher keeps running and countdown stalls randomly.

Sounds like The settings have messed up it happened to mine a while back you need to do a hard reset of the dish washer mine was unplugging the thing then plugging back in 30 seconds later then holding the cycle button a few seconds and then power on again. Find your hard reset combination of what your make and model of the dishwasher is I hope this helps.
