I just had my lamp replaced for my TV and the technician did an EXCELLENT job of setting the Brightness, Contrast, Color, etc to the point where my TV looked like an LCD TV. However I just moved and the settings were lost. Anyone have the best settings for a great picture? Would come in handy since we're having Verizon FiOS installed and with a straight-to-the-home fiber optic connection, I wanna make sure the TV really shows that!
Thanks!
Factory setting. Do a reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

Probably has some bad solder connections in the deflection/ power supply area, if you dont know about electronics, might call a repairman and put a few hundred $ into it or junk it, also it is not HD, just FYI

you need to take the screws out from around the screen in the back, on edges, go to the front and take the screws out from the bottom of the screen, should be 4 or 6 in the front, pick up on the screen and lift off, only about 8 pounds, now clean the little mirror in front of the projector, and clean the dust off the projector lence, that will solve it, iv had to do this on about 50 of thease tv's

Had the same problem. Service replaced the lamp engine. It did help.

You should re-consider having a tech do that for you. The access is by removing the screen assmbly which are somewhat fragile. If you want to give it a try, pull the speaker grill off, it comes off just from pulling it, there should be five screws across the bottom of the screen assy, remove those, there is also an access door on the front of the set with four screws, that has to be removed to unplug the cable that goes to the screen sensors. The screen assy has to be lifted straight up an inch or two and then you can pull it forward away from the set.
As far as cleaning the mirror and lenses, you can't get to the face of the tubes so it's the top of the lenses that you clean, just use a soft lint free cloth (cloth baby diaper) and wipe the dust off the lenses, you can slightly dampen the cloth with water if necessary, same type of cloth on the mirror and you can use a glass cleaner on it just don't press too hard on the mirror.

as i previously posted, my picture was dim, muddy looking after replacing lamp with osram lamp. i fixed mine by taking the screen off and cleaning the small mirror. it had a thick layer of dust on it, cleaned with a microfiber cloth. no water, no glass cleaners. i also used a very fine new small paint brush and dusted the projector lens which also had a dust film. brightness, contrast and clarity returned!

Color Warmth Displays- a choice list that lets you set one of three
automatic color adjustments: Cool for a more blue palette of picture
