PS# Error 80023017

Following on from the PS3 3.50 firmware update today, we have started to hear of owners having problems logging on to their accounts.

We have heard of PS3 owners who have updated their system complaining that they cannot sign in, and every time they enter their password are getting the wrong password message. We have had customers who have two PSN accounts and cannot log into either of them. They are met with wrong password message, and even when they use "Forgot your Password" all that comes up is an error.

Conrad Zimmerman of Destructtoid is reporting that PSN is going to have some scheduled maintenance today. This could be why users are complaining of problems logging on to their accounts.

The maintenance is expected to take place during 8 am until 5pm Pacific time. There will be a lot of users who are at work during this time so it will not be a problem for them, but for everyone else it will be somewhat of an annoyance.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.#$%^

I bought a used PS3 at a pawn shop. How do I sign up for a PlayStation Network account if the system only says sign in and has the old users email address in there.

From Google:
"From the top level of the PlayStation 3 Home Menu, go to Settings > [System Settings] > [Restore Default Settings]. Once you select [Restore Default Settings], you will see a list of settings that will be restored. Scroll through them and press torestore the settings.Jul 20, 2017"

If you search Google for: "factory reset a PS3" you will find only 1,920,000 other results.

Enjoy!

How to get back on the playstation networw

You should be able to connect to the PSN network. But first you must download the new PS3 Software Update 3.61 or something like that. If you try to sign on it well tell you to update. Then once updated you can try to sign on again but you are going to have to reset your password. To do that, it will send you an email to change it. You will have to go to the PSN website to change it, but shouldnt take more than 5 minutes. Once you're done, go ahead and sign on.

I updated my ps3 to the 3.50 version update and now i came back ready to play and now i cant sign in because it keeps saying all my details are incorrect, i even went on some other accounts to see if this...

So far, it looks like this is a PS3 maintenance issue. Sony will put out a patch soon, until then, you can only play campaign. (this is what the ps3 error 80023017 is anyway, it looks like a maintenance issue, I could be wrong).

I never had problems playing cod modern warfare 2 till I downloaded the patch 1.09. My Ps3 gets stuck mid game. What can I do?

I need help too, my when i turn on the Ps3, it runs normally, but the system doesn't acknowledge there is a disc in it. When i eject the disc and put it back in, it reads and i start it up, but about 30 seconds into start up, the game freezes. I already reset the system & recovered memory. Any suggestions?

When i try to download a lastest version of a game it says an error has occurred during the doenload and therefore wont let me sign online

Delete the game data, reinstall, and repatch. If that doesnt work, most likely PSN is still trying to fix the patchs for that certain game.

Everytime i try to play a game online, it doesnt work

What game are you trying to play? Even though the time goes up its been my experience that the download is still going on, even if the status bar seems like its stuck. A couple of games I play, like Socom confrontation signs you out of the PSN but your connection is still up to download the patch. It will sign you back in as soon as it installs it. I know the MAG beta has been notorious for this also. Are you having this happen on every game you try? Disc based versions? Are the games your trying to play multiplayer? Try unhooking your ps3 from its internet connection.. do you still get that error?
Im really curious to know if you were able to get it going or not, Ill be checking fixya here all day so if you have any more questions please post back. ill reply
