Ucom webcam no driver (vista os)

Friend, you have not mentioned the model of your webcam. So, go to the site of the webcam brand and select your webcam model and the type of Windows you are using and download the driver for it and burn to a CD for future use.

Yes - you can use the cam but you will need to download some software for it
You have a couple of options ( apart from the CD )

1) Visit the Radio Shack support website and download from here

2) If your Computer can identify New Hardware when you plug something into the USB - switch off computer - plug in webcam and start your computer - allow the new software to download automatically before starting any programs.

you are using vista i think that  is inbuilt drivers please confirm by checking with your ditital cam by using usb, your vista is inbuilt with your webcame drivers you got a message in taskbar " found a new hardware device " ofter that you can go " control panel -> Scanner and Cameras icon double click there..

       If your vista not inbuilt the drivers are available in the following website..www.google.com.. type your model name you'll get some drivers website.. click and download it .

If the two (cam + laptop) have not worked together before, it might be due to drivers problems. Most drivers are very OS specific. In some instances Vista has been known to have USB and/or compatibility issues. On the otherhand XP sometimes requires that you uninstall the old drivers, reboot before (re)installing new drivers, reboot before installing the hardware and allow autodetect and auto install.

If the two (cam + laptop) have worked together before and now doesn't, it might be due to hardware problems such as the cord, the cam itself or the USB port of the laptop. If your other USB devices works, then USB port(s) can be ruled out. You can verify that the camera works buy installing it in another PC.

You can verify OS compatibility of your camera as well as updated drivers at the Logitech website. Additionally, you can check for Microsoft updates/patches and fixes like this USB patch for Vista.

donot worry if your operating system is vista ,since vista is an upgraded version of xp,anything that works on xp will work on vista
