I have a Meridian Norstar # PO728290. The person formerly using this office phone programmed the answering machine but does not remember the password she chose. I need to change the password and put my own message on the answering machine.

You will need to enable it in programming. Access programming by dialing Feature **266344, then using 266344 for your password. Your password may be different. Contact your phone company for more details. Scroll to "General Admin". Scroll to "Permissions". Enter set number. The first option is "Full handsfree:N" Press CHANGE to set it to "Y". Scroll to HF Answerback and adjust it to "Y" to complete the process. Press Rls to exit programming.
Have your system administrator go into voicemail programming and reset the mailbox password. The default password will be "0000".
I hope you understand that having passwords in the first place is a security measure, so I will not give directions for hacking into your companies voicemail system.
You will have to go into system programming, under sets, line appearances. You will need to set the lines on the phones to appear and ring, not just appear.
