SOURCE: two port kvm belkin

SCROLL_LOCK, SCROLL_LOCK 1 and so on - so SCROLL_LOCK, SCROLL_LOCK 2 for port 2 and so on - tends to be the default for BELKIN KVM switches.
For DAKOTA SCOUT, try CTRL, CTRL. This might get you to the control panel. If the switch has previously been set up then you should be able to use the UP, DOWN arrow keys, as appropriate and follow by ENTER to select the machine you want. If the switch has not been set up then repeat the CTRL CTRL again - and this should get you to the main menu from where you can set up the switch

SOURCE: How to switch between computers

Do you know which model you have? Most KVM's switch by hitting Scroll-Lock twice kinda fast and then the port# you want to switch to. In your case it would be 1 or 2. If that doesn't work let me know what model you have and I will give you a definate solution

Try tapping the scroll lock key twice and then the up or down arrows, or tapping the scroll lock key twice and then the "s" key to auto scan.

Belkin Flip PS/2 - KVM switch - 2 ports how do i switch from pc to pc on key board

The instruction below the link is for a 2 port version KVM, and may not apply to your particular model. You can look your model up here:

http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/product/list/q/kvm/session/L3NpZC9BSk5yVUZKag%3D%3D

You can switch directly to any port by entering the Switch port number you wish
to use. For example, if you press “SCROLL LOCK”, “SCROLL LOCK”, “2”, the
computer on port 2 will be selected.

AutoScan Mode
In AutoScan mode, the Switch remains on one port for eight seconds before
switching to the next. This time interval cannot be changed.
To enable AutoScan mode, press “SCROLL LOCK”, “SCROLL LOCK”, “S”.

2-port KVM switch mouse & keyboard connected to wrong display

I have installed several of these KVM switches before... that's not normal. It sounds like there's a manufacturer's defect which is causing the video to link up with the wrong keyboard/mouse cables. If you just bought it, I'd recommend returning it and getting a replacement.

Belkin KVM STandard 9 pin mouse/keyboard to USB COnversion

You need to have the keyboard connecter (purple) connected to your computer in order for the KVM switch to recognize it. The computer is providing some power through the keyboard connector and this is what the KVM switch is feeding on.

If you have a USB keyboard, you may want to change your KVM for a USB compatible one. If you just want to use the KVM to switch your monitor, you may plug the keyboard (purple) connector of the KVM to your computer's keyboard PS/2 port and also connect you USB keyboard directly to your computer. It should work.

KVM switch mouse trouble

Does a mouse work if plugged directly into the laptop? Sometimes you have to change a laptop in the BIOS to allow a PS2 mouse in addition or instead of the touchpad. It may not be recognizing the KVM as a mouse. Try plugging the mouse right into the laptop and see if that works.
