Ice maker level arm froze up. I defrosted with a hair dryer last night, but no ice was being made this evening. I defrosted again and now have an ER 15 code on the control panel. It appears that the water supply line to the ice maker may have frozen up. There is still water to the water fill spout, but no water in the ice maker.

The problem with using a hairdryer is that although it defrost what you can see in dont that what you cannot....and youve guessed ....it turns back to ice as soon as you switch it back on ....you have to do a complete defrost(24hours)with the doors open.then dry out with towels then restart.....

Samsung rf266aepn bottom french door ice maker arm

Simple but a pain. Unplug the refrigerator. Get out your hair dryers and start de-icing the freezer door. Slowly but surly you will get freezer open. Be gentle. Dry EVERYTHING!!! Tracks, rails.....then replace part, plug back in, restock.

Ice maker was frozen & we used a hair dryer to defrost and now it

If there were ice cubes in the ice machine and it was doing nothing, then the ice maker is bad and you will need a replacement. This happens unfortunately. It is nothing that you did with the hair dryer tho. If I have misunderstood the problem I will gladly help further pending more information :) gl!

Refrigerator side not cooling, but feezer is still freezing

DEFROST HEATERS IN THE FREEZER. IF THERE IS FROST ON THE BACK WALL INSIDE THE LOWER AREA OF THE FREEZER SECTION. YOU THEN HAVE A DEFROST PROBLEM. THE HEATER IS THE MOST COMMON. REMOVE THAT PANEL AND DEFROST WITH HAIR DRYER. THIS FROST IS BLOCKING THE AIR FLOW TO THE REF. SIDE. AFTER THIS IT WILL WORK FOR 10-21 DAYS WITH OUT REPLACING THE DEFROST HEATER. 95 PERCENT CHANCE. JUST REPLACE THE HEATER SOON AFTER DEFROSTING SO YOU DONOT HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN.

Freezer down

CHANCES ARE THE DEFROST HEATER HAS GONE BAD LOOK IN THE BACK OF THE FREEZER ON THE REAR WALL DO YOU SEE ICE BUILD UP? IF SO TAKE A HAIR DRYER AND MELT THE ICE.MAKE SURE THE FREEZER IS UNPLUGGED.NOW REMOVE SCREWS TO GET THE COVER OFF AFTER REMOVING THE COVER CHANCES ARE YOU WILL FIND THE COILS FROZEN OVER.USE THE HAIR DRYER AND DEFROST THE COILS CLEAN OF ALL ICE.NOW THAT THE ICE IS GONE YOU NEED TO OHM OUT THE HEATER WITH A VOLT OHM METER YOU CAN BUT ON AT ANY HARD WARE STORE OR EVEN AT WAL-MART. WITH OUT KNOWING THE BRAND OF FREEZER I CANT TELL YOU IF IT IS A CAL ROD ELEMENT (LOOKS LIKE YOUR OVEN HEATING ELEMENT OR A GLASS TUBE. IF IT IS THE GLASS TUBE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THE WIRE ELEMENT INSIDE IF YOU CANT REPLACE ELEMENTS/S WITH THE DEFROST THERMOSTAT. IF IT IS THE CAL ROD YOU MAY OR MAYNOT SEE WHERE IT IS BROKEN YOU MAY HAVE TO OHM IT OUT BUT AGAIN REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT ALSO. BUT SINCE YOU HAVE THE UNIT DEFROSTED THIS WILL GIVE YOU ABOUT THREE DAYS UNTIL YOU NEED TO DEFROST IT AGAIN IF YOU HAVE TO WAIT ON PARTS BUT REMIMBER TO PUT REAR COVER BACK ON OR IT WONT COOL
GOOD LUCK

Kenmore elite french door freezer on bottom

Odds are due to the fact the ice maker was left on for an extended time with a full tray of ice the mechanisms froze. You can take a hand held hair dryer and defrost the parts, just be careful not to get too over zealous and melt the plastic parts. It should only take a few minutes to defrost.

To avoid this problem from occurring again, I turn the ice maker off when the ice tray is full.

Regards,

Ann

Ice maker grinding sound

I found I get a odd clicking noise whenever the icecubes freeze inside of the box in the top left. You'll see about 20 little fingers, arms, or whatever you want to call them that spit out the ice into the container...make sure those fingers/arms arent stuck from the ice.
