The power cord is in an outlet - but no light comes on. I pushed the on switch several times - it appears it has no juice. Could it be the power cord has malfunctioned ?

The Maxtor One Touch has a sensor that will keep it shut off if no power AND USB (or Firewire) is not actively connected. When you boot your computer, the unit will power UP and shut off when you power-OFF or idle your computer.

Your power cord is most lilely OK.....

The light on my singer Quantrum 9910 won't light up and it won't sew any embroidery stitches

This can have several causes. It appears, though, that you are not getting any power at all. That can be a defective power cord or power outlet, the bobbin winder spindle is pushed to the right, the presser foot is not lowered, the buttonhole lever is down but the buttonhole foot is not on. It also, of course, can be caused because your motor has failed, but that is the least likely.

Will not operate, no reaction when power button pressed. All panels properly locked.

first off does the light come on at all? when the switch is moved to the High Medium or low setting do you see a red light or a green light on the right side of the unit? if there is no light at all, then there is either no power and you have a bad cord or a bad outlet. The only other thing could be the switch that needs to be tripped in order to let the unit run, that switch is closed by the front cover locking in place. that switch could be bad or your cover may have the tip of the pin that pushes the switch closed broken off or deformed and not pushing down enough to close the switch. try pushing a screwdriver down on the switch and see if it comes on. There's nothing that can shock you if you push on that switch, the power wires are concealed inside a plastic covered area that the switch slides into. If you close the switch and it doesn't come on the check the power cord or the wall socket for power. See if the cord has any unusual looking spots or lumps, stretching, cuts or anything that looks suspicious.

Power coming in to television, but when I push the power button to turn the tv on; it does not come on.

You may have what I call the hard to turn on issue, look again in the power supply inside the set--follow power cord that goes to it and look for puffy filter caps:

Wheelwriter 6 Typewriter won't come on.

When the switch is turned on, the machine sholuld cycle all the motors and home the carrier to the left margin position and one of the linespace lights whould be on. If the machine does not cycle at all:
  • Make certain that there is power to the outlet (try a known working appliance or light into that outlet)
  • Ched that the line cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet
  • Check that the line cord is securely pluggted intor the back of the typewrtier (you can wiggle it while the power switch is on and see if the machine reacts)
  • Flip the switch on and off several times, including a flicking motion

Front panel Ac Switch failing to start computer.

Try these steps.
If Power supply light does not turn on (or no power supply LED)
Perform the following steps, in order, until power is restored or it is determined that there is a hardware failure:
NOTE: If the Power Supply fan spins when the PC is turned on but the light does not come on, it is possible the LED is defective. If this is the case, use the section Power supply light comes on or flashes .
1. Disconnect everything from the PC, including the power cord.
2. With the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the front of the computer. Plug in the power cord and test to see if the computer can turn on. If not, continue using these steps.
3. Replace the power cord with another power cord, like the one used by the monitor.
Test to see if the computer can turn on. If not, continue using these steps.
4. Ensure that the voltage selector switch is on the correct setting, 115V for North America.
5. With the power cord removed, flip the red voltage selector switch to the opposite position, wait about five seconds, and then switch the red voltage selector switch back to its original location.
This ensures that the voltage switch is engaged and set correctly for your country/region.
6. Plug in the power cord and test to see if the computer can turn on. If not, continue using these steps.
7. Plug a lamp into the same outlet to see if the wall outlet has power. Try the computer in a different outlet in order to eliminate the outlet as a possible source of the issue. Test both to see if the wall outlets have power.
8. Remove all extension cords, power strips, surge protectors and any converters that remove ground. Plug the power cable directly to the wall outlet. Test for power. If this fixes the issue, find the device that is causing the issue and do not use it.
9. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the build-up of dust from the power supply fan vent holes. Make sure that the PC is turned off and that the power cord is plugged into a grounded outlet. Only use the end of the vacuum hose near the outside of the fan entrance.
Plug in the power cord and test to see if the computer can turn on. If not, continue using these steps.
10. If all of the above steps have been tried and the power supply light remains off, use the steps in the next section, use the next section Power supply light comes on or flashes , to reseat the cables and check the power switch connector.

Kenwood KR V8080 receiver

if you sent 110v down the speaker wires & into the amp you most likely have damaged the audio outputs or the output ic. Look for a big aluminum heatsing & on one side you may find 1 or 2 ic's or numerous transistors, the ic's are hard to check, the transistors are easier to check, if transistors replace in pairs. also check for burnt /open resistors near outputs
